  1. We should follow suit and call up Biggio. We’re legitimately at a point right now where we can say we’ve been good. Our pitching has been fantastic. Let’s not let that go to waste by playing Alen Hansen. Biggio could end up making a difference right now. You put him the line up and it’s actually pretty deep. Sogard Vlad Tellez Smoak Grichuk Drury/Galvis Teoscar Biggio Jansen
  2. Patrick Murphy: 8IP 2H 2BB 1ER 7K
  3. That groundout by Vladdy had a 106.8 mph exit velo lol
  4. Offensive explosion by Dunedin tonight. 14-0 right now. Riley Adams 3-for-4 with a HR Cullen Large 3-for-4
  5. 18 games, .379/.506/.636, 3HR, 1.142 OPS
  6. It's his second go around in Dunedin, but Riley Adams is crushing: 14 games, .333/.500/.533, 2HR. FSL is a notoriously hard place to hit, so it's nice to see.
  7. I thought Bucholz looked pretty good despite his line. Just made a couple bad pitches that got hammered. His margin for error is pretty low given his velo.
  8. Through their first 16 games in Lansing: Groshans: .387/.465/.581, 1.045 OPS, 2 HR, 9BB, 14K Kirk: .350/.467/.600, 1.067 OPS, 3 HR, 14BB, 4K Bichette: .383/.486/.600, 1.086 OPS, 2 HR, 11BB, 11K Only 4K by Kirk so far through 75 PA. He seems to have incredible bat-to-ball skills. His bat might end up being better than Groshans.
  9. bk (Vancouver, BC): Jordan Groshans is off to a really hot start. Are the reports as good as the numbers? Kyle Glaser: Yes. Ben Badler who does the Blue Jays system for us was right on it when Groshans started earning glowing reports last year. I actually talked to a scout the other day who said the first time he saw Groshans he assumed he was a college guy because he was so advanced at the plate, he was stunned to learn he was a high school draft pick. The reports are good, the numbers are good, and kudos go to Ben for being on it and getting Groshans onto our Top 100 early. 2018 Draft Class (HS Hitters): Of the 2018 draft class HS hitters, would you rank Gorman, Kelenic, and Groshans in that order? I assume Gorman is at his own level now but how close are Kelenic and Groshans to each other? Kyle Glaser: I would refer you to our Top 100 to see how close Kelenic and Groshans are to one another.
  10. Alford hitting .145 now. Yikes.
  11. Losing a 1 run game while the hitting is finally coming around and Vlad is still toiling around in the minors. Having him up could've been the difference tonight.
  12. Because 20 something innings is not enough of a sample size to say a starter should become a reliever. Not to mention, doing so in literally the first full year of a pitchers career. Tons of pitchers come up and get hit around, make some adjustments, and then figure it out. In fact, that's actually the norm when it comes to pitching prospects. Very few come up and become anything right away. Give it time.
  13. He's been a good pickup. In this era of high K's and swinging for the fences, it's nice to see guy who can just make contact and work an AB. He had a 10% k-rate last season but a .173 BABIP. Must've gotten really unlucky.
  14. Not to mention it's his first year in the majors. The amount of hot takes I've seen on here with posters writing off so many young players is ridiculous. Kid has good stuff and can throw strikes. Let him at last pitch a full season before making so many blanket statements.
  15. Small sample, but Anthony Alford is not handling AAA well so far. 13 games .167/.231/.354 3BB 20K, 38.5% strikeout rate.
  16. Probably not, but I still don't expect it to tank and hopefully the offense will regress to the point where it'll help us get some wins.
  17. Not only that, our pitching did well against a good offense. Twins are a good hitting team right now (Top 5 in wRC+).
  18. Pitching has been great early in the season. We'd probably be around .500 if we had even a league average offense.
  19. Just me or does Teoscars plate approach look a lot better?
  20. Eric Sogard has some good AB's.
  21. Easy candidate for an extension. He seems to really like playing in Toronto too, so I hope we can get something done.
  22. Lat strain before Spring Training got started
  23. I believe Drury can be optioned as well. It wouldn't be the worst idea to send him down to AAA to get his swing right. He's been terrible at the plate.
  24. I wonder what's going on with Jansen. His K-rate has jumped significantly so far.
