  1. Jon Heyman, is really, REALLY dumb
  2. Unfortunately, these deals probably have no bearing on extensions with Vlad, Bo etc. They already come from money, and they had sizable signing bonuses as well. Acuna and Albies both signed for pennies out of Venezuela and Curacao.
  3. How in the f*** can Eloy Jimenez get more guaranteed money than Ozzie Albies without ever seeing a single pitch in the majors? Meanwhile, Albies has proven that he can put up 3.8 WAR in a season.
  4. His 2 option years are worth $7M each, so in total he's looking at $45M over 9 years if his options are exercised. How does this deal make any sense from Albies perspective? He's giving away 5 years of free agency for nothing.
  5. Ozzie Albies just signed an extension for 7 year and $35M with 2 option years. $35 million for 7 years for a guy that had a near 4 WAR season at age 21.
  6. 2:06 What happened to Logan Warmoth? He was ranked pretty high in your 2017 draft list Keith Law 2:07 Contact quality has been totally absent with wood. I'm floored - I thought his swing was good and was told his exit velocities in college were no worse than solid.
  7. Career 1.7 BB/9 in over 450 innings pitched
  8. Groshans not in the Lansing lineup today either
  9. I like how you praise the Rays while mocking the Blue Jays for bunting without realizing that the Rays bunted 3rd most in the AL last year.
  10. Most guys I've mentioned have either been Top 100 prospects or top organizational prospects too. They have had prospect pedigree and flashes of success in the minors as well. Are they going to become Bautista or Encarnacion? Statistically unlikely, but even if they become 2-3 WAR regulars and are producing that much when Vlad and Bo are up, that would be a big success. Also, how much high impact talent can you add when your main trade pieces are a 36 year old Russell Martin, a month of an injured Josh Donaldson, half a season of JA Happ, an Osuna who was charged with serious domestic assault, half a season of Steve Pearce etc. The real test is going to be what comes back in trades for Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, Ken Giles etc. We've almost never been trading from a position of strength thus far.
  11. How have they not done this though? They've acquired players like McKinney, Drury, Brito, Hansen, Teoscar hoping at least one of them breaks out with more playing time. You're acting like these guys are 30 year old write offs when in reality they're all 26 years of age or younger. Guys like Bautista, Encarnacion, Donaldson were all in the same position, or even worse at their ages. They didn't even break out until their late 20's. Player development isn't linear. It takes time. You give these guys a full season in the majors with more exposure to major league coaching to figure out their holes and see what happens.
  12. Buck doesn't believe in framing apparently.
  13. Nice piece of hitting by Grich.
  14. Now steals 2nd. Maybe Teoscar should play with an eye patch and just DH
  15. This scenario would mean we somehow got to the ALCS with Brito and Hanson batting 1st and 2nd.
  16. Why didn't Montoyo pinch hit Tellez for Hanson since Sale was out of the game?
  17. Okay that was actually fun
  18. This bunting is infuriating
  19. I wouldn't necessarily call Tulo a player because that would imply that he actually plays.
  20. I remember when people were saying why we DFA'd Tulo only to get Galvis. And he's on DL and Galvis is doing quite well for us.
  21. The mirage coming up big and scoring that run
  22. Except they're still scoring runs.
