  1. I was just about to post this. We should be all over this. Tucker is 27 but still has good upside. Astros just did this because they're in a roster crunch. Tucker has always hit well in the minors. Claim him or trade for him for a bucket of balls.
  2. Chris Ianetta would’ve been nice. Does Carlos Ruiz still have anything left in the tank? If so sign him to a 1year deal. If he flops we can always call up Jansen or McGuire.
  3. Did Raines talk to Marcus Stroman first? #communication
  4. Who else is in the market for an OF? Rangers and Giants? I think the Giants are adamant about not giving up a draft pick and want to be below the luxury tax. Rangers makes sense.
  5. Sign Cain, trade for either Profar or Villar and call it an offseason.
  6. Nunez isn't exactly the pinnacle of health and durability. He's only played a full season once in his career, plus he's only getting older. I'd be very wary of giving him $20M-$30M. If we want to bolster infield depth, I say we trade for somewhat proven players who's stock is low. Someone who's a little more cost controlled and younger. Someone like a Jonathan Villar would be perfect.
  7. Anthony Alford, Reese McGuire, Sean Reid-Foley, and Conner Greene for Yelich+Chen. Would that be enough? Quite honestly, I'd be willing to part with anyone but Bo, Vlad and Pearson for Yelich.
  8. Grichuk, Alcantara plus Hudson would be my guess
  9. When is the BA List for the Jays coming out? Thought it might've been out yesterday or today.
  10. Ozuna to the Cardinals is done
  11. It's not like he's the headliner in that deal. Just a throw in. He can still be a toolsy 4th OF type. Maybe like Carrera.
  12. Darvish has never had a year that was close to what Price and Greinke did in 2015. Not to mention he has elbow troubles and Price and Greinke are workhorse starters. Darvish has only had 1 season where he's crossed the 200 IP threshold. Look how the Price deal is working out for Boston. Don't think he gets close to $200M personally. He's gonna go in the $150M-$170M range
  13. We can get Ozuna without giving up Vlad, Bo, or Alford. Just need to take a bad contract like Prado or Chen with him. Ozuna is projected to make $11M in arb next season which is basically a goldmine for Miami. How about this? Wei Yin-Chen + Marcell Ozuna for Pearce, Reid-Foley and Harold Ramirez. Along the same lines as the NY trade. Offset the cost of prospect capital for Ozuna by taking back a bad contract like Chen who's owed $18M next season. SRF still can still be a good mid-rotation starter, and Ramirez is a better prospect than Devers cousin. We're taking $22M off Miami's hand. Replacing Pearce with Ozuna who they can play for cheap (they still have to field a team next year), or they can flip him too. Hope Chen can provide you with some 5th starter innings. Two birds with one stone. If we want Yelich, we'd almost certainly have to throw in at least one of Bo, Vlad, or Alford.
  14. CarGo would be Jose Bautista 2017 v2.
  15. Unless we take back a bad contract
  16. Surprised there haven't been many rumours about Lorenzo Cain so far.
  17. $21M 4th OF and pinch runner.
  18. I don't think there's a high likelihood he opts out at all. Highly doubt he does better than 7/218 + a NTC at age 31. Also, his agent has said as much:
  19. $18M in 2018, $20M in 2019, $22M in 2020. Not great, but to get someone like a Yelich absolutely worth it. You get one of the best contracts in baseball with someone like Yelich who's locked up for 5 years. Extract whatever value you can out of the 5th starter spot from Chen. Two birds, one stone.
  20. If we are taking back a bad contract, I'd rather it be Chen. He can slot in as our 5th starter.
  21. Cobb is looking at $50M at least after Chatwood got nearly $40M. Might get the same deal Ian Kennedy got.
  22. Apparently Profar for Matt Harvey is being discussed. We can do better than Matt Harvey, no? He's basically cooked. Very small chance he bounces back.
  23. You compare Miggy and Pujols contracts to Stantons: Assuming Stanton doesn't opt out, from ages 31-37 he'll be getting paid $26.8M by the Yankees, which won't even look like that much compared to what other guys are gonna be making by that point because of contract inflation. Not to mention they won't have to pay for Stantons 38-42 age seasons unlike the other teams have to for Votto, Miggy, and Pujols. Cashman pulled off a hell of a deal.
  24. The Yankees are looking insanely good: Lineup: C. Gary Sanchez 1B. Greg Bird 2B. Gleybar Torres SS. Didi Gregorious 3B. Chase Headley/Miguel Andujar RF. Aaron Judge CF. Jacoby Ellsbury LF. Aaron Hicks DH. Giancarlo Stanton Rotation: 1. Luis Severino 2. Masahiro Tanaka 3. Sonny Gray 4. Jordan Montgomery 5. Luis Cessa Bullpen: 1. Aroldis Chapman (CL) 2. David Robertson (SU) 3. Tommy Kahnle 4. Chad Green 5. Dellin Betances Meanwhile they still have solid cheap starting pitching depth in the minors like Chance Adams, Justus Sheffield, and Domingo Acevedo who can easily slot in that 5th starter spot, but at this point they should go full super team and trade a package of Clint Frazier for a top of the rotation guy like Gerrit Cole. It might also serve them well if they can get a good defensive catcher since Sanchez' isn't the best blocker
  25. I know we have infield depth now with Ngoepe and Diaz, but I'd still love to trade for Jonathan Villar. 1 season removed from a .826 OPS season. Switch hitter. At the very least if he won't hit, he can still steal bases.
