  1. Is paying 20 million for EE overpaying though? That's about what he's worth given his past performance and his predicted performance in the future.
  2. My guess is JB/Revere is the plan now.
  3. If the money makes sense, it would be awesome for JB to retire a BJ. He actually makes more sense than EE at this point (cheaper, less years on contract, can play OF)
  4. Fowler signed in STL because they gave him 90 million reasons. Jays are likely to never sign a big time FA under the Shatkins regime because they aren't willing to overpay for anyone. But that's what you have to do in free agency to land a big fish, overpay. Not saying this is a bad thing as lot of these free agent deals don't work out, but it's just a reality given this managements mindset. So the Jays are likely to circle around the free agent recycling and sale bins.
  5. It's not a question about missing the playoffs, it's about whether a team like the Yanks are better off using that 85 million on something other than a guy who will give them ~2 innings every 3 games.
  6. The Yanks signing anyone sucks, but I'd much rather them spend close to 100 million on a bullpen arm than sign a guy like EE.
  7. They are important for sure, but you need to get to the playoffs first though. The Yanks had a lights out bullpen to start last year as well and they ended up trading most of it when they were out of it.
  8. I love this deal from a Jays standpoint. The more money the Yanks spend on a one inning guy the better.
  9. These guys are in such a hurry to be the first to post info, they don't have time for the facts.
  10. When I saw name, I thought of him http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/03202/Better_Call_3202603b.jpg
  11. I've said it all offseason, JB will be one of the bargains of the offseason. Would anyone really be surprised if he out produced Edwin next year? Even in an injury plagued down year last year, he still put up good offensive numbers and he's only 1 year removed from a great season. On a short term deal, he's good value. He can split time between DH/1B/OF.
  12. Braves and Phillies battling for the WTF offseason award.
  13. The difference in commitment between John Henry and Rogers is immense. Sox have the best kind of owner. A guy who wants to win at all costs but who also doesn't meddle (much) and lets the smart people he hires do their jobs. It would be nice to have an owner who cared more about winning than selling TV packages. But I guess it could be worse.
  14. This sucks, but with 2 wildcard spots, there's more hope than there used to be.
  15. Conner Greene with his abercrombie and fitch pose
  16. Fowler makes a lot more sense than EE at this point, given how the offseason has gone so far. How many 1B/DH types does this team need?
  17. http://img.pandawhale.com/58669-so-youre-telling-me-theres-a-c-Sm9B.gif
  18. I didn't know Smoak's dad posted here.
  19. The whiff of his swing could blow out all the candles.
  20. or this http://i.vimeocdn.com/video/461036834_1280x720.jpg
  21. Smoak would miss the moon by a foot and then land back on the planet earth in the Jays dugout.
