  1. Man the home fans aren't having aot of fun in this series so far. Good on the boys making it a best of 3 series moving forward. The offense is buzzing again just like the Yankees series after a lull in Toronto.
  2. That would be a scary ass lineup but also a terrifying defense as well as you'd be forced to play one of Springer/Schwarber in the field every day.
  3. That's just dumb, let's give the guy a full offseason to get his shoulder healthy so he can help the Blue Jays moving forward.
  4. Oh so we're blaming the manager ahead of time just in case something bad happens. That's very reasonable.
  5. What has Hoffman done in the playoffs to dissipate the season?
  6. I don't think Bo would have played a single inning in the field coming back from a knee strain, but if would have certainly complicated the outfield defensive situation. I think the Trajekt machines that offer full speed MLB quality pitches could allow him to largely step right back into the lineup if/when the knee is sufficiently healed to let him run the bases and swing with full intensity.
  7. I simply made a point that Gausman ended the season on a high note and was literally one of the best starters in MLB by most performance indicators over a very large sample of starts.. I don't know why you would take so much offense to this unless you are so thin skinned that you are unable to handle a simple discussion that runs counter to your beliefs.
  8. Gausman certainly ended the season pitching like a true ace. His final 17 starts were very impressive as he was 4th by FWAR, 2nd in innings pitched, 10th in ERA etc. I place a lot more importance on how he finished as compared to how he started his season particularly in regards to the teams post season chances.
  9. Gausman was 10th in FWAR for starters this season. Based on your criteria it appears there are a maximum of 9 number 1 starters in MLB this season.
  10. I'm not a huge fan of the 2-3-2 setup personally, as the lesser team receives a pretty massive advantage in the series if they manage to split the first two games. I think something like 3-3-1 would be far more advantageous for the team with the better regular season record.
  11. I like Bieber's chances better in Seattle to produce a good start for the club. I assume that we'll see Gausman and Yesavage again in games 1 and 2 to start the series with Bieber to start game 3 on the road, but I'm curious to see what the club chooses to do for game 4 of the series.
  12. I'll never be a huge fan of the deal but it's simply because it's too damn long for a bad body first base type. Hopefully Vlad can break the mold a bit and ages more like an Ortiz type vs Pujols/Cabrera etc. On an AAV basis I have zero issues as Vlad is paid like a typical superstar player but in the back half of the deal if he's struggling to break replacement level it's going to be a bit of an anchor around the franchise's neck.
  13. So the team should just give up playing Bo completely because you saw him take a few swings you didn't like in a non competitive situation.
  14. Bieber allowed 8 batted over 100 MPH so he was good hittin' against the Yankees. The early pull was fully warranted in that game.
  15. No IKF either which is a bigger benefit.
  16. I think the Yankees will retain Bellinger in free agency as he's a perfect fit for that ballpark.
  17. I think this is already underway as Vlad chased a career best 21% of pitches out of the strike zone this season.
  18. Volpe had a tear in his shoulder and I imagine that must have been a massive factor behind the defensive struggles.
  19. If I recall correctly Lauer hasn't even thrown 50 pitches since the start of September and has maxed out at 40 or so pitches in the last 5 weeks. That's not stretched out to go 4-5 innings unless he was super efficient producing outs.
  20. Max Scherzer was never going to start game 1 of a playoff series for the Blue Jays. His previous track record doesn't matter very much compared to what he realistically has to offer at this point of his career.
  21. Nance had a tough September with 4.66 ERA/5.72 xERA so the division series struggles feel like an extension of his prior underperformance.
  22. I have zero issue with him being on the ALCS roster vs someone like Bruihl as the team simply shouldn't need 4 bullpen lefty's as the 4th guy will barely see any use.
