    Holy f*** you are acting like a petulant child right now. A baseball season is 162 games long,and the season isn't even a quarter over yet. We haven't seen the best of Varsho yet as he's hit much better than he has early on this season in his time in Arizona.

    Judge was 25 when he fully hit his stride vs Vlad who is still only 24.

    The team had an even worse offensive start last season, and I recall it was during the Cardinals series in May where the team's offensive output changed dramatically. Up to May 22 the team had an abysmal 92 WRC+ which ranked 18th overall. It's weird to think about but arguably this year's team is actually off to a much better overall start given the solid start of top of the lineup aside from Springer.

    The Orioles timed their scorched earth rebuild perfectly given how many elite prospects they were able to attain as a result.

    He really struggled to start last season as well although it was over a much shorter timeframe. When he caught covid and got sent to the minors for a rehab stint it was a blessing in disguise as he managed to refind his offensive game and return being a solid bench contributor.

    I think Springer, Kirk and Jansen are all going to eventually produce results closer to their actual abilities. The middle of the order has been the biggest issue holding th team back offensively so far, so once these guys start to click a little the situation should improve a lot. Second base very well may continue to be a bit of a black hole as only Merrifield has provided any value at all so far.

    This team has hit a lot less than I expected. I do think they have another potential gear offensively but they just haven't managed a streak where most of the lineup has been going at once.

    That's good in theory but aside from Gurriel this hasn't really happened in actuality. Otto Lopez is one such guy who might play some outfield if he ever proves he can hit in MLB. He at least has a shot due to a pretty decent hit tool and good speed.

    DJ Davis is another guy who was drafted first round but never developed a passable hit tool.

    It appears as if Biggio still has remaining options so the best course of action would be to send him back to AAA to see if he can get his game in order. I agree Lopez would be a better option for the roster, it's just too bad he's off to a slow start himself in AAA.

    That was poorly worded as I would certainly count Teo and Gurriel as success stories, however there has been nothing developed in the pipeline since these guys debuted aside from cup of coffee/5th outfielder types. It's trending like it will be something like a decade between likely debuts of even a decent bench quality outfielder so that's a legitimate ongoing organizational weakness.

    The offense really needs to step things up soon. They just got shut down in several games in this series by Ryan f***in' Weber and that's embarrassing as hell. They have been wasting a lot of good pitching performances lately.

    Moreno is better at throwing out runners and controlling the running game, but Kirk is better at blocking and framing. I think it's far from a slam dunk that Moreno is a better overall defender at this point but I do think he has a higher overall defensive ceiling due to his athleticism. Baseball prospectus has a detailed catching defense leaderboard which takes into account framing, blocking and stolen base prevention.     The Jays haven't even developed a passable 4th outfielder in recent memory so it goes well beyond developing starters.

    I don't have exact numbers to back this up but it feels like the team had a lot of rockets finding their way into Yankees gloves over the course of the game. At least one of these was with runners in scoring position as Kirk's line drive in the later innings leading to a double play against was an example.

    This post still has merit as the team is struggling in recent years to develop outfield prospects. They have no good outfield replacements in the upper minors right now, and potential help like Gabriel Martinez is still years away.

    I'm not buying into Moreno just yet. His offensive numbers are looking a bit like a mirage, as he's rocking a .398 BABIP at the moment without peripherals to back it up. His ground ball rate is nearly 60%, so it appears as though his impressive at a glance batting average is largely empty and largely dependent on ground balls finding holes. He has displayed minimal power and rarely walks, so the xWOBA is all of .298 vs actual of .326 so he may eventually see a correction in his results. According to Statcast he's below average both in framing and blocking, so the bulk of his defensive value is from throwing runners out on the bases. Eventually teams will stop running on him so this will limit the defensive impact he's able to make by eliminating baserunners, and that will leave most of his value coming from singles at the plate.

    I would have rather had Swanson use his best pitches against Judge rather than get burned when he fed Judge a middle middle cement mixer slider.

    How does the bolded section make any sense? It's a sign that the organization trusted that Walker was a quality pitching coach and that they believed in his ability to help out the pitchers at the major league level. Does not replacing Walker mean that the new front office would have no idea how to develop pitching in the minor leagues for some reason? I really don't understand what you are getting at. I always love how wait until the team loses a few games against a division rival then the incessant doom posts come out in full force. Fire the GM, fire the pitching coach, gut the entire organization's pitching related coaching staff, burn down the stadium etc. You would think we are members of a suffering fanbase like the A's the way you get to carrying on.

    If by some miracle the team actually has too many effective major league relieves without options they can always swing some trades to make room.

    Manoah's only usable pitch is his two seam fastball so it stands to reason Kirk is going to call for a lot of fastballs.

    I don't think he's been cocky at all this season since he's been having difficulty.
