  1. Hard to find any kind of silver lining in that overall line. I guess can only get better moving forward at least. Does the organization dare to send him out against the opposition for his next start or is it back to the lab and simulated games for the immediate future?
  2. Is Karen honestly the best you can come up with? On second thought that's about par for the course so carry on.
  3. There are a lot of really good developments on this team that are largely overshadowed by the disappointments. Like Bo improving by leaps and bounds defensively while continuing to be an offensive force, Brandon Belt has been a stout offensive addition to the lineup, Kiermaier has bounced back completely defensively after hip surgery and been a solid contributor from the bottom of the order etc.
  4. This is just one more example of us good Albertan boys getting treated like second class citizens. It seems that everything that ills this province is Trudeau's fault so to hell with that guy eh?
  5. It's almost like there is a plague of online Blue Jays critic zombies. These people exist solely to spread their hatred of the front office. Their doctrine is largely based on worshiping the altar of Alex Anthopoulos. This directly leads to a tendency to hate everything about the current front office, and this extends all the way down to the manager whose sole purpose is to be a slave of the front office. I think one of the foremost board members of this zombie cult is Gruber who is constantly complaining about how Ross Atkins directly sets the daily lineup.
  6. Having the potential of adding an impact arm like Chad Green available around the time of the deadline is a massive coup for the front office. Trade prices are likely to be insane this year due to the amount of teams battling for a playoff spot around the league.
  7. This dude is targeting the highly affluential GTA members of the BJMB.
  8. Maybe this message board could be the premise behind a new series. I would be the wise cracking stats nerd, Spanky could be the drunk unkle, Term would be the grizzled detective etc.
  9. Yeah we need more information straight away. I'd love to see a sitcom involving a husband and wife who are huge baseball nuts and argue constantly about the Blue Jays.
  10. Gray had a really nice month of starts heading into the Jays series before they tuned him up. Still big FIP/ERA spit as his ERA was an unsustainably low 0.84, but FIP was still a very solid 2.76. I am hoping that particular game could be a bit of a launching pad for the Jays offense as I think they have been showing signs of life since then.
  11. It's like his balls finally dropped. He used to have success by being scared and too timid to swing the bat because following his highly successful 2019 debut he stopped doing any damage with his bat. Now he's gone all alpha doing a ton of damage at the plate with greatly improved strikeout and walk rates compared to earlier in the season. The last month and a bit for him is pretty crazy as he's sporting a 51.2% hard rate, barrel rate of 19.5%, and average exit velocity of 92.1 MPH. If Biggio can provide these kinds of numbers as a part time player that's still a nice boost for the bench.
  12. Totally agree with the decision to shut this so-called debate invitation down. There's really no sense in trying to discuss anything with dudes who are just irrationally angry. These guys should be more concerned about seeing their shrink for anger management purposes instead of spending their time online attempting to spread their rages to others.
  13. Shouldn't you be busy bombarding the board with non-stop troll posts?
  14. I'm not about to make any predictions about Biggio's future production but there's certainly lots of reason for hope. He's been doing the exact type of things at the plate that were known as his primary weaknesses, such as hitting velocity, hitting pitches up in the strike zone, and hitting the ball hard with regularity. Instead of deriving his offensive value by literally not swinging at pitches he's deriving value by doing damage at the plate instead.
  15. You should look this up instead of assuming. Varho's pull rate was a bit lower for the start of the season but not by a great degree. Varsho pull rate by month: Mar/Apr 46.5% May 53.3% June 52.8%
  16. Varsho already is a pull hitter with a 50.9% pull rate. Jansen is only a few ticks higher at 52.6%.
  17. I think a very large part why the system appears so disappointing is injuries to a lot of the top prospects. All of Tiedemann, Barger and Barriera have missed significant time due to injury. Another top prospect in Bonilla has just started playing recently as well so he's another big name that hasn't provided much hype yet. I think there is plenty of prospect capital to improve the big league club as it stands presently. There might not be enough prospect capital to add a big name starting pitcher or position player but unless there is a long term injury to a key contributor I don't know if the team would be looking to add this level of impact or not. Adding the likes of a lefty mashing outfielder, leverage reliever or depth starters will be easily in reach with the names you've mentioned.
  18. Exactly this, it sounds like the Franco situation goes a lot deeper than somebody watching a ball off the bat a little too long or making some sort of mistake in the field.
  19. That guy can't even get quitting right.
  20. Why are you even here? I thought we finally saw the last of you after you flushed yourself down the toilet.
  21. Was this a case of a horrible man who hated all people equally or a completely unearned reputation? I haven't read this book either and wonder what type of conclusion it came to.
  22. Well for starters you are constantly calling Brownie and myself homers. I love how you frame a simple internet debate as "attacking" other posters if we disagree with someone else's opinion. It sounds like if a poster thinks this is a solid team that has underperformed yet don't see the need for drastic moves this means you should be constantly chided about being a homer. You can go ahead and point out where I refuse to debate or discuss criticism of the front office where it's warranted. If I don't agree with some of the criticism and *gasp* formulate a different opinion than what has been presented in front of me why should that lead to a constant series of attacks from the likes of you? Like it or not there are going to be different opinions on this message board, and most of us here are very knowledgeable and don't just spout nonsense without applying some kind of logic behind it. This may come as a surprise to you but we are free to have our own opinions and to share them without the likes of you chiding us for not blindly following along with the overwhelming negativity that permeates this place when the team is struggling. There is a difference between thinking that this front office has mostly made solid moves in the buildup of this team, and there is no need to start running around like chickens with our heads cut off when the team is failing to live up to the pre-season expectations.
  23. So basically you are saying that it's perfectly fine for you to go around calling other posters names and getting up in their faces about how their opinions are incorrect, but at the same time you pretend you are some sort of righteous crusade against this exact type of behavior? I'm honestly not surprised in the least, good thing you are so readily showing your true colors and exposed the giant façade all on your own.
  24. Yeah I realized that after the fact. It was still a glorious burn in the moment though and you'll never take that away from me.
  25. Wait a minute, not all wives are nags? Well that changes everything.
