  1. "Now coming to the plate, shortstop Greedy Rigormortis"
  2. I never learned which of them is which, they were just Tim and Sid, now they are both Tim or Sid.
  3. Two years + club option/buyout seems about right
  4. " Following a strong first season in San Diego in 2017, Yates added a splitter to his arsenal and saw his career take off; in 2018-19, Yates led all qualified relievers with a 1.67 ERA and ranked third with a 2.14 SIERA over the life of 123 2/3 innings. Along the way, he struck out a whopping 38.7 percent of the hitters he faced, while walking just 6.1 percent of opponents. Among qualified MLB relievers, only Josh Hader and Edwin Diaz topped him in terms of K-BB% during that time." Drool worthy
  5. This is some of the biggest Blue Jays news of the off season

Three teams in three years, you're going to get a reputation as a problem fan.
  8. Crazy how long we've known about the Jays landing Beltre, yet it's still not official
  9. Keon Kela comes to mind as a buy low reliever. Not listed as a top 50 FA, likely because he hasn't pitched much the past two seasons. Still only 27 and has a pretty good prior track record, late inning type stuff if healthy.
  10. Lol reminds me of his roast, so many great jokes about his love for himself.
  11. Nailed it
  12. Josh Wolf?
  13. There is risk involved for sure, but I'm a believer. High spin rate and plus (perhaps elite) command, sounds like a recipe for success in any league. He could turn out to be a complete dud but at least these international arms are no longer coming with a mega albatross price tag.
  14. Really do hope we land him, one of the few options that could provide significant surplus value.
  15. Happy Sugano day!
  16. Not really that impressive, Joe West does this at least once per game
  17. WJC = Trevor Zegras show
  18. Bauer + Realmuto....trade Jansen as part of a package for another piece.

The set up sort of puts the weaker teams at an even further disadvantage. The bottom spots are earned through the division II tournament, but the problem is that this occurs a year in advance. Often seems like these teams are qualifying based on a strong crop of 19 year olds who are then too old to play the next year. Having the division II tournament in the months prior to the WJC would at least make some improvement to the field without having to contract.
  20. The Padres also owe a 5M release fee to his KBO club, so they are making a total commitment of 30M "The Padres will owe a release fee on top of the contract that will be paid directly to the Heroes. That fee will equal 20 percent of the contract’s first $25MM, 17.5 percent of the next $25MM and 15 percent of anything spent thereafter."
  21. The return seems sufficient but I don't understand the initial reaction that it's somehow a great haul for Tampa. If you are moving a pitcher of Snell's caliber on that contract, you had better receive at least one young blue chipper like Patino. Mejia has some name value but will soon run out of shine if he doesn't hit at the big league level. A lot will need to go right for this to be any sort of coup for the Rays, but it seems just about right in line with what should have been expected for a return on Snell.
