Definitely a big potential reward with Thames, but if we do pursue him I hope the plan would be for him to see as little time in the OF as possible. 1B/DH is fine...
I don't think Dickey was ever as bad as people made him out to be and his great second half was a big part of our turn around last season. He won't be missed because our rotation is set but I hardly see a reason to chase him out of town.
He's always seemed to have major league reliever written all over him but it's definitely the injuries that have hampered his progress. Nothing to say a dominant AAA season wouldn't get him a September call up though
It doesn't say that they don't want him back. He could still turn out to be solid value on a cheap short term deal.
Saunders would be smart to take the biggest guarantee he can get, if someone else is willing to do three or more years I'd let him walk.
Yeah I think Kadri will be sitting at least 3 for that. Definitely a punk move by Burrows, spearing a guy is already gutless enough without adding in the theatrics.
I'd be ok with that. Even if his bat doesn't completely rebound, he'd still provide a versatile lefty bench bat and the ability to field multiple positions. He's played six positions at the big league level (all three OF + 1B, 2B & 3B).
2/14 seems a tad steep but not out of the realm of possibility.
Yep he seems to be settling in and very likely wasn't quite himself to start the year.
The player the Ducks drafted with the pick from that trade (Sam Steel) is off to a blazing start at the top of the WHL scoring charts, so it appears both sides should be happy with early returns from the deal.
It will be interesting to see what type of deal Greg Holland can land. He's definitely someone I'd love to have here on an incentive laden one year deal.
