I'll admit that I saw Marner as more of a Sam Gagner than a Patrick Kane.
  2. I'd be shocked if Atkins is done adding to the big league roster.
  3. The arguments for a 26 man roster make a lot of sense. In general I think extra usage of specialized players will generate extra excitement. I hate the idea of restricting reliever usage in any way, let teams use their players as they see fit. I'm finding myself split on the issue of September call ups. There are valid arguments for and against it.
  4. Eaton would be a great addition but not at that price.
  5. You moved Alford up 95 spots on your list. The only games he's played during that time are in the AFL and you said those games don't matter, what gives?
  6. My personal list with their actual ranking in parentheses. 1) Guerrero Jr [1] 2) Reid - Foley [3] 3) Alford [2] 4) Tellez [4] 5) Guerriel Jr [5] 6) Urena [6] 7) Greene [9] 8) Harris [10] 9) McGuire [11] 10) Ramirez [12] 11) Bichette [7] 12) Zeuch [8] 13) Pentecost [15] 14) Perdomo [14] 15) Maese [13]
  7. It's always worth exploring what you could get in return for an asset at peak value. I'm also happy with the rotation as is.
  8. Selling high in terms of trade value. Happ's performance may continue to shine, but he has two years remaining on this affordable deal, coming off this career season his trade value may never be greater.
  9. There's also possibly Biagini to consider for the 5th starters role.
  10. Could have worded this a bit more respectfully
  11. He can play OF, but he's been below average out there for a few years now and that will only likely get worse. I'm not saying we wouldn't be able to use him out there at all, but I believe that both he Morales are best suited to spending the majority of their time as DH.
  12. The idea of moving a veteran starter in exchange for Puig has crossed my mind, is it realistic?
  13. I read that we were mentioned as one of the teams showing interest in Beltran, but I have to assume this is old news from prior to the Morales signing that has just been leaked now. Beltran and Morales should both be used primarily in the DH spot at this point, I can't see investing in both.
  14. That's basically my take, Bo had an extremely impressive pro debut and could easily shoot up the list next year, but for now I couldn't justify putting him ahead of other guys with impressive tools who are having success in the upper minors.
  15. Best of luck to Jerry with his operation and recovery. f*** Cancer
  16. Barney coming back as a utility guy should be inevitable, no?
  17. I'd go one year + club option/buyout at most on Gomez. A second and/or third year could come back to bite us if he doesn't rebound.
  18. I figured it would be good to have a one stop shop for general discussion related to our starting rotation for the forthcoming season. With the comments from Atkins regarding the idea of stretching out Biagini, would the plan be to have him start the season in Buffalo? Or does that speak to the possibility of moving one of the returning five starters, whether it be moving one of the young guys for a controllable bat, or selling high on one of the vets? What type of return do you think we could be looking at by selling high on Estrada, Happ or to a lesser extent, Liriano? Would you be comfortable starting the year with Liriano & Biagini as our #4 & 5 starters behind Sanchez, Stroman and one of Happ/Estrada?
  19. I would hope he's added to the 40 man this year because someone would likely snatch him in the rule 5.
  20. I don't know about the official part but it's been reported that both Bautista and EE will decline.
  21. No thanks on Desmond, I don't prefer him enough to some of the other options who don't require compensation. Fowler is the only OF for whom I'd consider giving up our pick.
  22. At this point he seems more likely to land somewhere closer to half that term and half the AAV.
  23. Yep, and quite possibly had the greatest peak of any player in franchise history. True, but I get the feeling this FO will take the pick and replace him with a younger bat.
  24. I completely understand the frustration with Bautista's attitude but he's never done anything that should tarnish the perception of his greatness. He may not be as easy to root for as Doc and some of the others but there's no denying Bautista's legacy as one of our all time greats.
  25. Holy s*** are you Rodney McCray?
