  1. The idea of moving a veteran starter in exchange for Puig has crossed my mind, is it realistic?
  2. I read that we were mentioned as one of the teams showing interest in Beltran, but I have to assume this is old news from prior to the Morales signing that has just been leaked now. Beltran and Morales should both be used primarily in the DH spot at this point, I can't see investing in both.
  3. That's basically my take, Bo had an extremely impressive pro debut and could easily shoot up the list next year, but for now I couldn't justify putting him ahead of other guys with impressive tools who are having success in the upper minors.
  4. Best of luck to Jerry with his operation and recovery. f*** Cancer
  5. Barney coming back as a utility guy should be inevitable, no?
  6. I'd go one year + club option/buyout at most on Gomez. A second and/or third year could come back to bite us if he doesn't rebound.
  7. I figured it would be good to have a one stop shop for general discussion related to our starting rotation for the forthcoming season. With the comments from Atkins regarding the idea of stretching out Biagini, would the plan be to have him start the season in Buffalo? Or does that speak to the possibility of moving one of the returning five starters, whether it be moving one of the young guys for a controllable bat, or selling high on one of the vets? What type of return do you think we could be looking at by selling high on Estrada, Happ or to a lesser extent, Liriano? Would you be comfortable starting the year with Liriano & Biagini as our #4 & 5 starters behind Sanchez, Stroman and one of Happ/Estrada?
  8. I would hope he's added to the 40 man this year because someone would likely snatch him in the rule 5.
  9. I don't know about the official part but it's been reported that both Bautista and EE will decline.
  10. No thanks on Desmond, I don't prefer him enough to some of the other options who don't require compensation. Fowler is the only OF for whom I'd consider giving up our pick.
  11. At this point he seems more likely to land somewhere closer to half that term and half the AAV.
  12. Yep, and quite possibly had the greatest peak of any player in franchise history. True, but I get the feeling this FO will take the pick and replace him with a younger bat.
  13. I completely understand the frustration with Bautista's attitude but he's never done anything that should tarnish the perception of his greatness. He may not be as easy to root for as Doc and some of the others but there's no denying Bautista's legacy as one of our all time greats.
  14. Holy s*** are you Rodney McCray?
  15. I believe any team giving Bautista a multi year deal should be planning to have him spend significant time as a DH. The Jays signing Morales should signal the end of Bautista's time in Toronto, but we'll soon know know for sure.
  16. Would be nice to have a true table setter at the top of the lineup.

The other day Gbill was on HFboards claiming Laine has already surpassed Ovechkin haha
  18. The thing is, even if Alford never does make it, your ranking was still ridiculously incorrect based on his chances and tools compared to our other prospects. I seriously think you just forgot him on your first list and should have just owned up to it.
  19. Too early for this, lot's of off season left.
  20. Sent mine in
  21. And we very well may have 3 first rounders aka giant bonus pool. Good stuff
  22. We've seen some impressive collections of young arms but I can't remember seeing our position player group with this type of quality depth.
  23. When was the last time we had a stable of position player prospects of this caliber?
  24. If they think he can give them solid #5 starter's innings than that's not a bad deal I guess.
