I have been violently ill since Tuesday, ran up one of the worst fevers of my life and was full on delusional. Gonna take a nice long nap here and hopefully wake up to some great news, at which point I'll just have to convince myself it's real -

The projections appear to be in the range of 5.5-8M per, so this seems like an overpay on the surface. In the least it's a gamble based on track record more than current projections -

Throughout the year? I think you could mix in some BP games or occasional sixth starter days without actually going with a six man rotation all year.

Twas me. If someone would take Bassitt's full salary (or close to it), we should be able to land Flaherty for similar money, seems like quite a coup. Somehow this rotation: Sasaki/Flaherty/Gausman/Berrios/Francis...would barely cost more than we are on the hook for with Gausman/Berrios/Bassitt/Francis/Yariel. That seems like the way to go about improving a ballclub

Do you predict Straw will start in CF until Varsho is ready? My gut tells me they'll default to whoever's defense they see grading out the best

He does have a couple league average ish offensive seasons under his belt at least. Hopefully they can figure out some adjustment to make him a passable bench player again. I have a bad feeling he's in the mix to start in CF until Varsho is ready. If he's the best defender for the job, goes without saying that's going to be a huge consideration..
