    IMO they are more likely to get him as a free agent. Surely the Dodgers want him to fill in for Seager's injury this season, and would give up more? Can't imagine the Orioles being interested in Addison Russell.

    He hasn't been down 10 days yet - maybe Osuna's administrative leave doesn't count as being on a restricted list so can't bypass the 10 day rule?

    Jose Reyes was put on paid leave until he was suspended a couple of months later, which was then backdated to take account of the days he missed. That was because his court date was cancelled as the charges were dropped. Osuna will almost certainly get the same treatment - i.e. paid leave until June court date, then depending on the evidence and what happens will determine the length of the ban he gets.

    Yeah, ideally you'd have closer by committee as the bullpen has been pretty good - but Gibby loves his defined roles and Oh's done it before in his career.

    Reyes was arrested but the charges were eventually dropped by his wife.

    He'll pitch in the majors again even if he gets a year ban / serves time - but I don't think it'll be with the Jays if he's found guilty.

    The absolute best case scenario for Osuna is if she drops the charges, and he'll still get up to 50 games like Reyes. There must be some evidence (witnesses?) other than a she said he said situation for him to be arrested. If he did it, she presses charges, and he's found guilty, that's his Jays career over IMO in the current climate.

    So the next time a spot starter is needed is Sam Gaviglio going to get the call over Biagini? Gaviglio is already on the 40 man and has options.

    September means you can use anyone on the 40 man. It wouldn’t burn an option this year, but as Vlad would have to be added to the 40 man it would mean one is used in 2019 if he spent any time in the minors.

    Again, to prepare him for being the starting 3B in 2019. Again, this theory relies on believing them when they say he’s not up right now because he needs more time in the minors, and not solely for service time reasons.

    Yeah it's the typical short term thinking of a casual to call him up now to play DH, ignoring the longer term implications of which position he'll play in the majors.

    Injuries are keeping him on the roster IMO. With everyone back (if that ever happens) it’ll be even more difficult to justify keeping him.
