  1. Jr was chubby even as a little kid, haha.
  2. Could have been a lot worse. Depending on the severity, he might only lose a month or so.
  3. With how conservative Shatkins is, if we sign anyone it'll be Gio Gonzalez.
  4. Looking forward to the day when we don’t have to watch Drury anymore.
  5. Trigger alert: Buck and Pat discussing how runs scored and RBIs are the most important stats for evaluating players.
  6. Quite possible, but I think we'd need to guarantee the second year to make it worth his while to sign an extension right now. You'd think he would be able to get 1 + an option year as a free agent even with the market for 1B being so low.
  7. Either of these would be great IMO. Not sure that Smoak would accept that deal though, he might as well test the market as a free agent to get a 3+ year deal if he's only giving up a $10m guarantee.
  8. The correct answer is that it's too early to tell if Sanchez is over his injuries that have ruined his last two years, so it's too risky to give him a long term contract right now. Put up this poll again in a few months (unless of course he gets injured) and it'll be a fairer question. Much more interesting to me right now is should Smoak be offered an extension, and for those that would say yes, what would it look like?
  9. IMO Stroman should be the priority, though I worry that despite all the recent extensions around the league and Stroman claiming he wants one, it still hasn’t happened. Assume he’s asking for too much. I’ve always liked Sanchez more than most but he’s not yet proved he’s totally over blister issues yet or that he’s going to remain a starter - let’s revisit later in the year before committing to him. Smoak I wouldn’t extend if we can get an ok return for him, but if not 2 years at most. He’s pretty good, but we could replace him with a short term ok veteran without losing much, saving money, and keeping 1B open.
  10. Buck and Pat last signed contracts a few years ago and they expire at the end of this season. I’ve been looking forward to this offseason for a while, hoping that Pat doesn’t get a new deal.
  11. Tellez already gets at least one game a week off and rotates 1B/DH with Smoak. With no Morales there’s more flexibility at those positions. As long as Vlad looks ok at 3B in the majors, he’ll play there most of the time, and occasionally DH and also get days off. He won’t play literally every day partly because players are not used to 130+ games a season in the minors. 3B has been manned by Drury, Urena, and Sogard - one of them (including Gurriel) will compete with Hanson (who has played in 10 games already) as the back up utility infielder while also playing at 2B. It’s these players who are most effected by Vlad’s call up, not Tellez.
  12. That’s pictures of Ohtani’s first bullpen batting practice. TBF May is only just over a week away too!
  13. And ban OP, unforgivable! /s
  14. Call up Vlad now and we’ll never lose again!
  15. Don’t you know anything, Teoscar’s hits don’t count (for some reason)!
  16. Smoak might have an All-Star chance as a reserve 1B too.
  17. Only 9 pitches to get through that inning. Good to see either way though.
  18. Good inning from Tepera, should be able to pitch another inning now.
