    Only 20 minutes in but Barcelona vs Liverpool has been the game of the season so far. Amazing quality on show, Salah, Van Dijk, Alba, Busquets and Messi have all been immense.

    WAR isn't an official stat, I've said it before but it'd be an interesting step if MLB endorsed one methodology and started using it officially. There would then be more chance of it being quoted regularly by broadcast teams IMO.

    Davis also is already on the 40 man and had a September call up last year, so we'll likely see him up at some point. He's almost certainly nothing, but that's still better than Brito haha.

    All pitchers are susceptible to injury. Your original comment appeared to be suggesting that he was incapable of exceeding 3.5, which is obviously bollocks.

    You fail to mention that his 6 seasons only include 2 full seasons. He’s put up 3.4 and 3.2 in full seasons, with 3.4 and 1.4 in half seasons (his first and his injury plagued last). Then he has 2 partial seasons (injury and then this one). 3.5+ is perfectly reasonable to expect (fitness permitting) based on his track record.

    You've got to assume we've already offered that and he wants more, if that's all it would take surely it would have been done by now. There's almost no downside - even if you're set on trading him he'd then be worth more in the summer with the extra control.

    Yeah this is a good point - if he’s extended we can still trade him if the rebuild takes too long.

    The podcast guys should do a charity fundraiser to pay for his much needed therapy.

    Stroman is only 27, is a solid to very good pitcher and barring injury he should remain so for at least the next 4 or 5 seasons. If we don't extend Stroman, the chances of us developing a pitcher as good as him when we need one (which could be as soon as next year, but is probably more likely a couple of seasons away) without overspending on a free agent (something Shatkins probably won't do) isn't very high considering how often pitching prospects fail. Having said all that, it take both sides to agree a contract. If Stroman is asking a ridiculous salary and/or contract length, then we should trade him at the deadline for a haul.
