    That's pretty funny. But inaccurate. I was just noting that he isolated Vladdy by saying "we lost because we didn't score runs and because of baserunning mistake". A guy who can answer questions as deftly as Shapiro put that out there to send a message. It is obvious he was livid about the whole situation but especially Vladdy's stupidity. What is also surprising is that not a lot of media picked it up on it during or after the presser. Media people can be quite tone deaf. When the CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays drops a bomb on the "franchise player" it has repercussions. Good news for Jays fans because Vladdy has been a major downer these past two seasons. Wake up call delivered. Let's see if Vladdy receives it. Only a hundred days until pitchers and catchers report to the Dunedin complex in FLA.

    Yep. Anyone who thought they were gonna can Atkins after letting him do the post mortem presser are in a dream world. As I said before, as long as the team is competitive enough to compete for a playoff spot and keep the P/L in the black, Rogers Corp will be happy.

    I will throw out a name here that I think the Jays should pursue as bench coach. Someone who has presence and knows the game. Someone who commands respect from players throughout the league. Someone who played the game at a high level. Someone who can say to Vladdy wtf are you doing. Someone who won't bend the knee whenever Atkins calls down to the clubhouse. CARLOS BELTRAN.

    Just be happy we didn't have Tony Larussa sitting in the dugout whispering sweet nothings in Schneider's ear.

    Rivera's "retirement" could be the harbinger of positive change. Getting rid of Martinez/Hudgins would be warranted and seems likely to happen. If the Jays can't find an brand name hitting coach perhaps Hunter Mense should be given the lead job. New blood will hopefully reinvigorate this franchise and perhaps smooth over the antics of this past two weeks. Hope abounds.

    Maybe change the division series to seven games, why not. We could have a WS Champion crowned by halloween.

    If the P/L looks good Shapiro is golden. I honestly don't think Rogers is overly concerned with this team winning a championship. A half decent on field product is all that they ask to keep the turnstiles moving on Blue Jays Way.
