    Yeah, I don't see the reaction on this board that DP is referring to. Most are just disappointed with the outcome but happy we were in the running. Were we played? Possibly, but all is fair in love and war....and free agency it seems.

    It is hard to fault Ohtani for taking the most $$$ he could get. Who among us wouldn't do the same? That said, am I hoping for a barrage of injuries to come the Dodgers way in 2024? Yes. Do I hope they knocked out of the playoffs every year? Yes. Do I hope the back half of the Shohei contract turns into an albatross? Absolutely.

    A narrative is building on the interwebs that Morosi was fed the info that Sho was in a plane to Toronto. Similarly Hoornstra given info that a deal was done with the Jays. Both leaked by Ohtani's camp. If true than for sure the Jays were played. Kind of slippery dealing.

    Well from the looks of it the Dodgers countered with the $700M and that was a bridge too far for Rogers. Not sure how I feel from a fans point of view. The Sho would have been incredible for this team but being pragmatic, it would not have made sense. Doesn't take the sting away though.

    After the mundane and frustrating end to the season we just witnessed, the excitement was well overdue. I was all over it. At the end of the day we're fans. Can't blame anyone for wanting a little joy in their corner of the baseball world. The plane, fake tweets, speculation, outrage from fans of other teams, the highs, the lows, etc....all part of a crazy day. As it should be.
