    I have heard that the media rights for the Jays to the Japanese market could earn them over $40 million a year. If Yamamoto did indeed ask to meet with the Jays, does this mean he knows the Ohtani deal is locked in? The breadcrumbs sure seems to lead to that conclusion.

    Not getting Ohtani isn't a failure. They are taking a shot, which is better than the bulk of MLB teams. We're in the conversation so let's see what transpires before we get the pitchforks out in front of Blue Jays Way.

    I can get behind this from strictly a baseball sense. However, from a marketing point of view, I think Rogers is looking at someone that can transcend the game. They want butts in the seats on the 100 level so that they can justify the expense of all the fancy new cupholders they just installed.

    Looks like they are cutting bait with pursuing Chapman. Boras likely asking ridiculous numbers and 5 year plus deals.

    Yeah, he hasn't shown his age that much (other than strike out rate) but he will. I personally don't like to see this team pursuing hitters north of 35 years old and JD has been having back issues (red flag). Wouldn't you much rather they get one or more of: Teoscar Lourdes Gurriel Jung Ho-Lee Jorge Soler Rhys Hoskins Will be interesting to see what the opening day lineup will be next year. Atkins is under some heat to shake things up and I think he will.
