    I’m very down having Edwin finish his career here. Perfect in the DH slot and can play a little 1B. Would be an awesome veteran for the young latins as well.

    This is really just a head scratcher. We really couldn’t do any better. I don’t even know how he got 2 guaranteed years let alone 12 million per. This is like a spending moneys for the sake of spending kind of move. Hey look we’re doing something. Its not a good something but it’s certainly a something!

    Yea no thanks. I actually don’t mind him but the compensation is a steep price. What a broken system. Its literally so stupid that you can trap players with the QO tag. A guy like Donaldson is probably not going to get a multi year deal like he desires because nobody will give up term and compensation. So he’s probably going to be back in Atlanta on a one year deal at a little more than the Qualifying offer.

    Its pretty clear the Jays have zero faith in Danny Jansen hitting at this level. Grandal would be nice. Power and gets on base from the Catchers position. Rare combo.

    Jays gave up nothing. I’m pleasantly surprised. Its a solid move. Nothing to be overly excited about but it’s a nice little move.

    I keep telling myself only 1 more year of Montoyo just 1 more year of Montoyo. Hes just here as the bitch manager to take all the L’s until the team is ready to be competitive.

    Potentially risking the 5th overall pick to win this game. Tomorrow has to be loss unless Seattle wins tonight. Blue Jays fans should be Mariners fans this weekend. Lets hope they can take one more from Oakland.

    Vlad looks disastrous this month. I just hope he learned that his talent alone won’t carry him at this level. He needs to get his ass in shape and have a big offseason. Drop those lazy habits. No more ice cream and poutine.

    Starting to look like McGuire is taking over the reigns as the main catcher. And although small sample has been both great behind and at the plate. Danny Jansen has solid defensively. But a disaster at the plate the vast majority of the season. Its a pretty interesting development considering the minor league numbers. For now I’m glad to see McGuire behind the plate more often than not.

    A lot of s*** would have to go right for that to be a reality. I hope it happens but I’m not holding my breath. I have zero expectations.

    Next season is going to suck as well. People are getting themselves up for a let down if they think otherwise. I think they will spend as little money as they possibly can and focus on short term deals for a veteran starters and relievers to fill out spots and trade them at the deadline. I can see them bringing back someone like Edwin Encarnacion to be a veteran for the younger players and finish his career with the Jays. Also fills a need a 1B/DH. I would love to see them bring in a bring in a veteran Outfielder that actually gets on base. But that’s unlikely with the current glut of them on the 40-man. The team will be basically be the team we have now supplemented by a couple veteran starters and relievers mostly:

    I don’t see any scenario in which the Blue Jays compete next year. And he will have no shortage of suitors after his latest monster season.

    If you would have told me Jonathan Davis was a fan that the Blue Jays wanted to a favour for I would have believed you. He has no buisness hitting at the major league level.

    So Alford isn’t hurt hes just not playing Davis over him for some reason. Its amazing that Davis is playing more than Fisher and McKinney is as well in the last week.

    His breaking ball and his command has been great. Hes not throwing very hard. A lot of 90-91s.

    Wet Noodle feeling some pressure from McGuire hasn’t looked completely useless at the plate tonight. Competition is good.

    Red Sox are still a major league team. You can make the argument that the Blue Jays are a AAA team. So that September notion doesn’t apply here.

    McGuire is doing everything possible in the small sample size to steal time from Jansen lol. Jansen’s starting job should not be secured though. Outside a couple of hot streaks hes been god awful offensively. But on the flip side McGuire was awful offensively his entire Minors career. Maybe they will split time in 2020.
