Very interesting timing for sure. And it absolutely could be a revenge tactic. But also to that I would say if people had known about this sooner they probably should have came out with it sooner. I think cheating in Baseball is a lot less severe than being a potential pedo. Sure the Astros are pieces of s*** but its just a game. And honestly what happened in that dugout and locker room should have stayed there. I mean I’m glad to know the truth but also see the betrayal angle as well. You do start to wonder if Fiers came clean about the cheating scandal because he was feeling guilty about something else. They say that the people who are most afraid of getting robbed are the people who steal themselves.

I mean you get to the point where age doesn’t matter anymore. I’m not judging you but there is a massive difference between a 30 year old dating an 18 year old. And a 42 year old dating a 30 year old. Just using the 12 year age gap as an example. You’re just in dramatically different stages in life. Once you get into your mid to late twenties most people are trying to accomplish the same things. Even if I could do it I wouldn’t and that’s the point I’m trying to make. And I’m talking like the barely legal here. Nobody should probably pass on f***ing a hot 22 year old if given the opurtunity.

Not the current players. The older players from the 2015 teams preferred the blue alts. But the current crop like the whites and grey better. I remember Stroman mentioning it last year that the team usually always wants the whites or grey.

MLB has taken such a beating in the last 20 years. Massive black eye for the sport.

We don’t really need new jerseys. But I would be fine with a powder blue alternate. The current alternate blue is my least favourite of the 3. But its still decent. I just think they over wear them. The home whites are so sexy. And the road one is probably the best road jersey in Baseball. Top 3 for sure. I also like jerseys that say the cities name.

Well if he ends up as a DH he would have be exceptionally good hitter to provide value. I think if he’s going to be fat and lazy now you should consider trading him while is still a mesmerizing young prospect. That body is just going to be a disaster once he gets into his late 20’s. If that’s his makeup and who he is. Honestly would trade him and try to maximize his return right now. We’re going to find out a lot of in the Spring how committed he is. The Jays have called him fat in every other way you could without saying the word. He can have momma’s Dominican cooking once or twice a week. Otherwise I want to see nothing but chicken breast and kale on his plate if I’m the Jays. Double that water intake as well so his ass can actually fit in his pants this season. -

Does Vlad even want to play third base? Would he even care if he got moved off the position. I know they asked him what position he wanted to play when he signed and he said third. I just wonder if challenging him to get in better shape and to get better defensively if it would even matter to him. Maybe he’s content with being fat and playing 1B/DH because he just likes hitting. Either way if he doesn’t come into camp in much better shape I think you have to consider discipline at that point. -

I was honestly hoping Drury would just get non tendered. Kind of surprised hes still here but they clearly like him for some reason.

I like the pickup for them. Perhaps “steal” was not the right word to use but I think hes good for that lineup and will give them some value. Not a reason to cause any kind of fuss though.

I’m hoping Shaw never faces left-handed pitching ever. EDIT: I’m hoping his right-handed platoon bat joins the roster soon. Was hoping that was going to be Edwin but we all don’t get what we want.

Considering some of the garbage contracts around Baseball. I would say getting Thames that cheap is a nice pickup. A lot of assumption that Shaw is going to bounce back to where he was. Maybe he just sucks now. Either way at 1B in a platoon I would have preferred Thames. Plain and simple that’s my opinion. No need for the dick bag comments. That’s why new people don’t post here. Its a low risk move either way. I hope it works out.

Steal for the Nats. Would have much preferred signing him over Shaw.

Honestly if we could get Price on 60% of his salary I think that’s something you have to explore. But it seems like it was one or the other between Price or Ryu. Whether it’s another impact position player or just another starter through trade I’m thinking something has got to go down. The bullpen hasn’t really been addressed either. Tons of spots to fill. Maybe they go for cheap options per usual. Shaw needs a platoon partner and Tellez as the Everyday DH doesn’t excite anybody. Arguably should be fighting for spot not handed one. He still has an option as well.

I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop. The Ryu deal on its own just doesn’t make any sense to me.

I wonder what dictated that because in terms of minor league numbers Sanchez was arguably the worst of the 3. You remember hearing about the stuff but rarely seeing the results.

Makes me wonder how many times AA really tried to trade Syndergaard. He never had a chance to remain a Blue Jay. How depressing.

I still want Edwin back. Shaw should only face right handed pitching. Tellez can play in AAA or be moved to any team that wants him no issues.

I would rather they brought in Thames as well and told Rowdy to kick rocks personally.
