  1. They don’t seem willing to invest any money in it. They don’t value velocity and swing and miss the way other organizations do. I don’t know how that changes. But considering everyone they acquire fits a similar mold it seems to be an actual philosophy. The other problem is we don’t seem to be able to turn failed Starters into reliever options either. Mostly because the failed starters don’t have great stuff to begin with. Maybe that changes with Pearson but who knows if he ever even stays healthy.
  2. Jays don’t really have the luxury of trading Outfielders. Springer doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to play the Outfield more than 60% of the time. They have nobody even close to taking over one of those spots in the minors. So pretty much set atleast through next season and whoever they choose to employee as the 4th OF after this year. I would hope they non tender Tapia.
  3. Hopefully Berrios is good today but in reality we have absolutely no idea what we’re going to get out of him. And considering what he makes that’s not a very good feeling.
  4. Clarington Orioles > Oshawa Dodgers
  5. Orioles kinda f***. Think they are about to send a message this week.
  6. He will add some good size to the team showers for sure.
  7. Zimmer was faster but was actually a s***** base runner. Bradley would be pinch running for the likes of Kirk so not overly worried about it
  8. JBJ is about as smooth as they come in the OF. His speed definitely has dropped off. But he’s a better player than Zimmer. Despite borh of them being incapable of hitting.
  9. Honestly I would have agreed with you a week ago. But they honestly don’t have a choice with Stripling out and moving out Castillo. Unless they were to make a really aggressive promotion I don’t see who that other option is because it’s certainly not at AAA
  10. This team is tremendously limited. If not a lot of things click right they have difficulty winning. 2 reliable starters, a bit of mixed bag bullpen. And an offense that’s prone to prolong droughts. They will make the playoffs. But it’s hard to imagine them double much damage outside of a Wild Card game started by Alek Manoah. This core needs a fundamental change. And I believe that starts with moving out Bo.
  11. Still think Moreno is more useful as a trade asset. Jays catching situation is in good hands.
  12. They are miles apart outside of ERA which is basically irrelevant in the comparison. Infact it’s probably an irrelevant stat for relievers peroid. One terrible outing can balloon an ERA fast. Jansen is striking out batters at an elite rate. Walks nobody and has a WHIP under 1 which is pretty nuts. His advanced stats even tell a better story.
  13. He’s like the perfect backup catcher why lol. So we can employee someone like Collins instead? f*** that he’s fine. The one they should trade is Moreno but his value has definitely went down since the start of the season showing no power this year.
  14. I really wanted to see them sign Kenley Jansen. They could have easily out bid the Braves. If they are unwilling to go multiple years with free agent relievers just start offering massive one year deals to get them to sign. Throw a 1 year 20m contract at Kenley in the off-season. He’s once again been very good this season. And the Braves don’t abuse him like the Dodgers did. Seems like the organization is willing to set money on fire to sign back end Starters like Roark and Kicuchi or whatever his name is. Don’t really care he’s awful. The sport has pivoted to an emphasis on relievers and the Jays apparently see the game differently. I think they should do the exact opposite. Pay relievers and don’t buy 5th Starters. Sign a bunch of depth options for cheap and hope either one of them emerge or develop your own. Pay for premium starters and premium relievers. Fill the gaps after that.
  15. That’s a large number considering how many teams don’t have a true closer. The Blue Jays among them. He’s mostly fine but I don’t view him in anyway as shut down reliever. His strikeout numbers have been trending down as well. If you’re not a Closer or Setup guy you’re a middle reliever so no idea why people took offense to that. There are bullpens in this league where Romano would be the 3rd or 4th option. He’s not special. I was actually hoping they would groom him as a multi inning reliever.
  16. The Jays bullpen is much deeper for sure. But they still lack a true 8th and 9th inning guy. It’s mostly fine… Losing Mayza hurts though. No longer a decent left handed option. I view Romano more as a middle reliever. He just happens to be the one closing right now.
  17. I would like to think if Ian Happ was actually available he would have been moved and the Jays would have been all over it. Its not like the Cubs had to move him.
  18. August 7 Vladdy - 1 Point - JaysAllMighty Bichette - 2 Points - LTBF Hernández - 2 Points - Spanky99, Stangstag Kirk - 2 Points - Jonn Chapman - 2 Points - Omar Gurriel Jr - 4 Points - Dylan, P2F Espinal - 6 Points - Biggio - 6 Points - Tapia - 8 Points - Off the bench: 10 Points -
  19. I paypalled myself $500 dollars.
  20. Terrible comparison. But this is what Mitch White is. Hes going to be a serviceable swingman who can give you 4 or 5 innings consistently of 3 runs or less. Guys like this are valuable I don't really like paying a premium for them but it is what it is.
  21. Getting the sure out to make sure the inning doesn't get out of control. I would not doubt anything Chapman does defensively.
  22. Looks like Correa might be opting in. Hard to walk away from $35 Million and he isn't exactly having the season he was expecting clearly.
  23. Sometimes the classics suffice. You’re not really the type to spend real energy on tbh.
