    If they sign Bellinger to anywhere near the rumored number you can put a nail into the coffin of this core winning anything within the next decade. I was all aboard signing Bellinger for his show me contract. But not his break the bank one.

    I think you misunderstood. They have already moved on from the likes of Freeman and Swanson for more team friendly situations. They have done a wonderful job of locking up a core of great talent. Would be out of character now to go sign the biggest free agent deal in the history of North American sports. Just doesn’t add up.

    Braves gutting their core and savy team friendly contracts and still having a great team only to ultimately splurge on Ohtani makes little sense to me.

    Yankees aren’t getting anybody for one year. He will be cemented there for the next decade punishing the division.

    He made a lot of trades that worked in the short term. But quickly went to s*** and 2 decades of mediocrity. Jays got absolutely cleaned out on every addition to those Championship teams.
