  1. I swear to god this place is a hive mind lol. First day on the internet.
  2. Shambles means a state of disorder. Aka not able to process how good he is in this moment. But yes assume I meant it negatively. Everyone else does. Yes we should be quite happy. Who do I cheer against? I'll wait but answer quickly because this is already a completely baseless post with zero merit.
  3. People on this board are going to be in absolute shambles when Roden wins AL ROY.
  4. The situation really isn’t this dire lol.
  5. Really don’t think Grandal moves the needle at all. Probably should just roll with Bethancourt.
  6. No its not simple. It’s actually very hard to deal with individuals with evaluations that don’t match up to yours. It’s not easy when you have to make choices that project the direction of your franchise. And none of them should be made lightly. But at some point you have to make tough decisions so you don’t put your organization in a position that’s tough to recover from. These negotiations according to Vladdy have never been close. So were they expecting him to cave to their demands and sign a team friendly contract that close to free agency? It’s fine if they didn’t want to give him what he wanted. I respect that. I don’t like that they are doing that but not making the best decision for the future of the franchise. Is making the playoffs this year more valuable than losing Vladdy for nothing. That’s what they are risking ultimately. As someone who is a fan of the team I can only sit back and watch on how things unfold. But I can certainly have an opinion on it. I would like to see Vladdy retained but not at the number that has been floating around. It will be interesting to see what kind of year he has. And what his market will actually be like.
  7. Good for him. Bad second half last year but didn’t think he was ready to retire. If we didn’t have so many 4th OF types already he would have been a nice fit against lefties.
  8. He should have been here in September instead of wasting at-bats on the likes of Stewart Berrora and Luis De Los Santos. Luis De Los Santos
  9. Myles Straw will be burried in the minors to save money.
  10. I don’t need to look for reasons to criticize them. They bring the criticism on themselves. It doesn’t take a smart person to know if you aren’t going to retain your stars you need to move them for assets. You can’t bury your franchise into the ground. You take a hit on the front end but you minimize the amount of time you suck. When you lose your best players for nothing. That’s when you become s*** and mediocre for 10+ years. That is the trajectory the team is currently on. Star players are pending free agency. Very weak farm system. Retain the stars or trade them for talented assets. It’s pretty simple.
  11. If the number was anywhere near what David Ortiz thinks it should be they certainly did. But once again if they weren't going to sign him to what he was asking for they should have moved him last year.
  12. We can only like this.
  13. Why in the actual fudge cakes would they be considering Giminez for the leadoff spot? He’s arguably the worst hitter on the team and posted .638 OPS and sub .300 OBP. He shouldn’t be hitting anywhere but 9th. Literally the worst leadoff option imaginable.
  14. Bo has a lot to prove this year. And realistically I don’t know what his demand on the free agent is because I doubt many teams are looking at him as SS, I don’t think it’s in the best interest of either side to extend now. At the high end he’s probably looking at something close to what Marcus Semien signed for. But he’s going to have to have a big year.
  15. Schwarber would be an excellent replacement for Vladdy and come at a fraction of the price. Jays should be all over that.
  16. Thought I was on Facebook for a second . Had to double check.
  17. Paying a 1B who should actually be a DH $450 million would have the potential to be franchise crippling. I doubt the Jays even entertained anything over $400. They were probably comfortable in the 300-325 range and pushed it to 350 to try to get it done. I think the contract if agreed to will look like 10-years 375 with deferred money. People thinking he will get 450-500 million are insane. Unless he starts playing 3B again and can legit stay there.
  18. The biggest difference between Vlad and Soto is body shape. The ability to actually play the OF even if he’s not that good at it. Soto’s skill set ages better. And by far the biggest factor. Soto has been way more consistent, Vlad has had 2 elite Seasons out of his 5. You could argue Soto has been elite since Day 1 outside of a minor blip with the Padres before turning elite again. And his blip was still a really good Baseball player.
  19. Once again if they didn’t want to pay Vladdy what he wants they should have traded him. I’m not mad at a lack of extension if they really felt he wasn’t worth “his number”. I’m mad that they are now likely going to lose him for nothing or a watered down return at the Deadline.
  20. Clock is about to strike midnight Cinderella.
  21. Kirk is very important to extend. But he will be more in the 12-15 M range. On a 3-4 year deal. He would have to put up a monster offensive Season to go as high as 20m which I still think would be excessive. He looks like he’s in better shape thus far. And he’s getting an early start to Spring. I remember him getting off to late starts to Spring in previous years. I could see him having his best offensive Season. He knows he’s very much the guy now.
  22. Dave Berg was easily my least favourite Blue Jay on those early 2000’s teams. He was so memorable for being so bad. Not a name I thought I would hear again lol.
  23. Nope he’s playing Second Base. Triston Casas is their First Baseman
  24. Kinda disappointed Alonso went back to the Mets with his tail between his legs after the way they treated hi m. Kind of makes him look like a massive pussy.
  25. Jack Flaherty finally a Tiger again. Will he bring Bregman with him that is the next question.
