  1. Agreed, and it's tough to project players coming out of Coors.
  2. Bichette could actually end up in the same ranking as the first group by the end of 2018. He's probably Top 20 or better at the start of 2017.
  3. Imagine that. That would be some rotation lol. Darvish, Stroman, Otani, Sanchez and, eventually, Pearson.
  4. That's interesting. From interviews I've read/heard, I could buy that relationship being with Arden Zwelling from Sportsnet. He's flew over there several times and hung out with Otani, from what I understand. If he gets us Otani, I think he could articles countless articles about the importance of RBIs and he would get a forever pass from me.
  5. Wish we were in on Otani and had decent negotiating power to convince him. He makes a lot of sense for us, yet, apparently we're not in on him.
  6. I'm so sorry to hear that man. My condolences :'(. On topic, I have no real words. Halladay was my little brother's favourite pitcher ever since he was drafted. My brother was really ill as a kid and watching Doc starts helped him stay positive to get through it. Meeting Halladay was one of the most memorable moments of my life. Before my brother could say anything, Doc looked at his smile and said, "You're my inspiration. You're the reason I get so much joy out of this game" and patted him on the head. That made his year. A true class act all the way.
  7. That's fair for sure. Maybe I should have phrased it like this, healthy Devon Travis with more pop seems like the average, the floor is a utility guy, and the ceiling is Altuve without the speed. I use Altuve because it's difficult to find someone else to comp to him who had this type of hit tool, spray chart, and hard hit%. We'll see what happens, but his A-Ball numbers for his age are nearly unrivaled since the beginning of fangraphs. He likely won't but that spray chart would seem to indicate he has a talent for finding holes and gaps (yes, that's what she said.. Ugh lol..). So an extremely above-average BABIP in the bigs year over year isn't an unreasonable prediction, if the hitch doesn't affect him in higher levels. Fair. We'll see how AA goes.
  8. That would be an interesting decision. When Tulo goes down, hopefully that happens.
  9. Yeah I know, I'm excited lol, but we haven't had players this good in our system, ever, really. I see those as their ceilings, and, Vladdy's, at least, has been corroborated by several scouts/analysts. I think Bo's hitch in his swing will prevent him from cracking the top 15 in early 2018, but if he does the same thing in AA, I could see him top 5-10 by season's end. Devon Travis was never a highly rated prospect, I don't see how that is a reasonable "ceiling" for someone like Bo, who put up historical numbers in A ball this season with a ridiculous spray chart. Travis also makes a lot of weak contact in his profile, Bo has similar velocity off his bat to Vlad, from most reports and internal interviews on them.
  10. Did you see Bichette's spray chart and hard hit %, this past season? A lot of the BABIP can be explained with those.
  11. That's fair, but, imo, healthy Devon Travis with more pop is Bo Bichette's floor. You can't really diminish what Bo did this past season at that age. He had a much higher wRC+ than Mike Trout at the same age in the both A and A+, and put up a historic wRC+ in A ball. I see his floor as healthy Devon Travis and ceiling as pre-2016 Jose Altuve, only because you can't really project a prospect to put up 7+ WAR annually, it just happens sometimes.
  12. That wouldn't be a FMV trade. Hell, Vlad and Bo could end up being the #1 and a top 5 prospect in baseball by mid-2018, if not sooner, depending on their starts in 2018. You would definitely have to throw in a few more of your top 10 to make that worthwhile for the conservative front office in Toronto. At that point it wouldn't make a lot of sense for both of our teams.
  13. I wonder if I'll get nominated for anything? I realize I don't post as often anymore though, sadly. Less mentions of 4SM usage should hopefully merit a passing thought, I can hope .
  14. What are we a hive mind? Call him whatever nickname you like, it won't bother me lol. On topic, I'm curious if this, at all, changes his potential Top 100 ranking in early 2018? Regardless, it will be cool to see where he lands when that list surfaces.
  15. Josh Fields isn't going to sleep a wink lol. Damn, Altuve and Corea though! Beastmode! Love the batflip in prime time!
  16. Surprised no one posted it but Bo Bitches won MiLB Player or the Year https://www.milb.com/milb/news/toronto-blue-jays-prospect-bo-bichette-wins-milby-award-for-top-offensive-player/c-259521444
  17. And they have Jansen at #17. Catchers that hit are a rarity. Not sure why they wouldn't shoot them up the ranks, one-season sample size or not.
  18. I'm pretty sure he knows, but probably feels it deserves its own thread. I would agree.
  19. So would I. No rush in getting rid of Pillar. He'd probably be a decent 4th OF even.
  20. Sign a FA to replace an OF spot and hope Alford hits his potential and becomes the CF.
  21. He's been saying that for awhile, constantly mentioning the RBIs... I feel like there's going to be a lot of surprised faces when he's eventually released and no other team jumps in to pick him up.
  22. Shohei Otani would look quite nice, but, alas..
  23. "Hey Bob, long time listener and fan of the show, ya know... I think they need to get rid of this Shapro guy.. I think he's a bum stooge, and he keeps trading for (signing) these guys with crappy records, you can't win like that" On topic, thank you front office and Marco for accepting!!
  24. I wonder what that would cost, given he's rebounded quite nicely this season and is one hot streak away from finishing with 4+ WAR.
