    I'd be all for cutting their losses with Morales. They could try trading him to a dumb team looking for power and offer to eat half of the salary. This would allow Pearce to DH.

    Honestly, I would eat some salary and ship out Morales. Have Pearce DH. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to trade Pillar.

    Bo had 2 SBs, 18 on the season now. The dude is a beast, back to hitting .400.

    I would take a stab at Otani. His age makes his likely cost not too scary imo. Just wish we could get rid of Morales to provide him some ABs at DH to sweeten our offer.

    He had 12 K/9 in 5 starts in high A before his call-up as well, so there could be something there.

    Ah man. That sucks. How does Liriano (who will be a risky potential RP for Houston) plus salary relief get Hernandez, but Smith (who's been insanely dominant in the same role) yield this?

    It's beautiful to watch. K rate and BB rate are trending in the right directions. Since he's been back in AA, he has a 17.5% BB rate, and a 10% K rate. A nice little 9 game stretch he's on.

    Reverse salary dump to get a decent prospect. Maybe a High A outside of the top 100, but with a bit of upside?

    Yep! Max Scherzer is a perfect example of that. The guy is on record stating that he studies his peripherals religiously to find room for improvement.

    This is true. But even in a down year, he still looks better than Greene and Maese. Not sure why they're ahead of him.

    I can understand him dropping because his peripherals have not be SRF like this season, but how Greene and Maese rose above him is beyond me??

    Occasionally I'll check out what Smoak is doing, and watch Stroman starts, but that's about it, until Alford and others are called up.

    He could be, but Conner Greene can't miss bats. He doesn't really have a 2nd plus pitch. But who knows, his MILB K/9 is even worse than Sanchez' (who was actually not that bad).
