  1. I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to actually post something of relevance in this thread, instead of adding another post about jeans or hair..
  2. Here's more on the philosophies that Atkins, and his assistant director of development, implemented for pitching. This should shed some light on what exactly Atkins could be bringing to our development system.
  3. Just read this, but it really does point to Atkins as an indirect/direct reason Carrasco, Kluber, etc became so great. I'm confident that he hires coaches that focus on maximizing the peripherals any given pitcher can produce.
  4. I think Chavez could be a valuable trade piece at the 2016 deadline, if he has a great 1st half like he usually does, and Hutch/Sanchez/Osuna are nipping at his heels in AAA.
  5. Most definitely. It could help our pitchers limit the risk of injury and potentially increase command with repeatable fluid deliveries.
  6. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/coming-to-terms-with-carlos-carrascos-trade-value/
  7. Awesome! Thanks for that man! Do they give you aid on them as well?
  8. Is everyone given the same cases for the assignments? Just curious because group studies would be nice lol.
  9. Interesting. Thanks for that. How are the assignments, what do they involve? Are they just financial reporting?
  10. How are the Core modules set up?
  11. That sounds awful lol, which electives are you doing? I think I'll choose Assurance and Tax.
  12. This is the hope. Atkins' elite development background would see red flags in Sanchez' performance metrics, and, if depth was good, doing what you suggested would be the best direction. Hell I would have him working with someone as early as January/February.
  13. Damn lol. Are you on to the Capstone's yet?
  14. Simmons is a piece of s***. That's 2 questions where he's trying to stir s*** up.
  15. lol
  16. Anybody else graduating College/Uni this year? I complete my degree after this month, then have to do CPA PEP (Ughhh.. lol).
  17. Awesome, I hope Atkins considers him. Maeda projects between the Tanaka and Iwakuma tiers.
  18. Quality post. Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar, Allen, Kipnis, Lindor, and Mikey Callaway are enough to make me buy into whatever Atkins was doing in Cleveland. f*** the team record.
  19. LOL Only two posts in 3 pages about his qualifications? Well, he's an analytics guy and constructed a pitching rotation full of strikeout guys. His development team turned Carrasco and Kluber from AAAA guys into peripheral princes. I'm very happy we got him.
  20. This is true. Fair point.
  21. Maybes they're similar in contracts and as grizzly vets, but their styles are very different. Shields is a strikeout guy with decent peripherals, Buerhle is a pitch to contact guy with s*** peripherals.
  22. Playoffs are a crap shoot, and you're talking a very small sample size my friend.
  23. He's trying to be the leading star from Vikings. http://vikings-fan.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/vikings1.jpg #BringerOfRagnorak
  24. A trade would be nice, but it's probably just a random life quote tweet.
  25. Happ. Far less commitment for a similar class pitcher, especially if we buy into the massive decline Shark took last season (in K/9, FIP, xFIP, etc). I'll take 3 years of 2012-2014 Happ with the chance that he did figure something out in Pittsburgh, over inconsistent Shark for 5 years.
