  1. The other interesting bit was that Gibbons said Price is not available on Wed which is what's being circulated. However Price did not rule that out. He's going to go out and do his normal stuff the day after a start and see how he feels. He is definitely leaving it open With Loup back and Price being hit pretty good, maybe Price becomes the situational guy...
  2. From our perspective, I think Hamels is the more ideal. For them, I think it's a toss-up. Yeah Hamels is the better pitcher than Gallardo no doubt. From a match-up point of view, Gallardo has owned us. I think I read/heard something during Game 1 that the Rangers think sooner or later, the Jays hitters are going to make adjustment against Gallardo. Maybe that's the reason... Either way, I could just hear the debate and rage now over in Rangers land about how stupid Bannister is for starting Hamels and Gallardo.
  3. They are starting Hamels instead of Gallardo... interesting Doesn't make one bit of difference... The approach is back, the bats are back and it's the Stro Show.... Couldn't ask for more!!!
  4. Buck is really so much better as a color guy... i am enjoying is analysis
  5. I think you make some credible points but the problem I have is that you are polarizing the argument - Yeah they haven't played their best ball, their issues with the ump will come across like whining, fielding errors in critical moments, etc. But with JD/Kela, we really don't know who said what. JB in his post-game seem to suggest that Kela said something first. I for one can't pin Gibby for what happened these 2 games and I am no Gibby fan. As for their approach, it's debatable. We got here because the big mashers swung for the fences... BTW you should take a look at Martin's PG yesterday. Pro's pro all the way
  6. For sure - It made my summer... As for what we gave up, the only thing I may possibly regret is Hoffman. But then again, would I rather have Reyes and that contract or Tulo and the same contract. I think it's pretty clear Tulo is the better option or for those not happy with his offensive production - the lesser of the 2 evils though the numbers indicate Tulo's offense should come back next year.
  7. that's not what I got out of the interview; it seems he is frustrated and basically stated that the strike zone was moving and inconsistent. He did say he is a young guy and trying to do his best. Martin is a pro's pro man. I am proud that he reps our team and our country. And I also like the swagger and JB and JD and the "don't f*** with us" swagger... good combination!
  8. By Eddy's reaction and this is a guy who doesn't pimp his shots, it sure looked as if he thought he barreled it
  9. this is interesting ... but when the ball left Eddy's bat, did you think it was leaving the park?
  10. Someone in another post said that he was ranked pretty high, like #8 IIRC. I'm wondering how they do these rankings. I read that Joe Torre said that they don't even look at the pitch f/x data...
  11. I tend to agree. I know Hawkins gave up the winning run and all of that. But to me the key was capitalizing on mistakes. Cecil threw a hanger and Napoli did something with it. We had meatballs we either popped them up or fouled them. There was the one Eddy sent to center that just died - I am trying to blot that out of my memory right now... Yesterday was definitely on Price, especially on his inability to give us a shutdown inning. But then Gallardo center cut some balls too in the first couple of innings and we didn't do anything with it...
  12. Rangers lineup though they rank in the top in terms of offense are constructed differently than the Jays. They have more team speed and in general plays relatively more "small ball" rather than the relying on the HRs. The Jays have a couple of base stealing threats in their lineup but overall don't have much team speed. They are the big bashers - they rely on the HRs as we all know. Given this, any stadium conditions do favor a team one way or another. This is why in stadiums that have natural grass for instance, groundskeeper will maintain the lawn, including how they mow it, to different conditions depending on who's pitching (ground baller for instance). It's like this with stadium where ball carries or not carries, or the park dimensions. Ironically, the Jays big bats may fare a better chance with the HRs at Globe Life then at RC with the roof closed
  13. That was just a hanger. Lefty or righty, you hang that clutch hitter will do something with it...
  14. probably because rosenthal and costas are both vertically challenged...
  15. i think we are doing the rangers a favor if we take out stro
  16. hamels got multiple calls that were lower in the zone... yeah what consipiracy
  17. for sure ... for about an inning or so and then i'll go back to the other's team feed
  18. just tuned in ... looks like a lot has happened .. no reynolds; costas and is that kaat calling the game is not bad at least from i can tell so far...
  19. Rangers are talented that's for sure but I personally can't go as far as wanting them to win it all. The head maybe but stomach no... As good as they are (and scarier when they have both Darvish and Hamels next year), they pay top $ with their FA signings and trades (Soo, Fielder, etc) and have the 4th highest payroll in AL
  20. From Stephen Brooks: Temperature. 15C is starting to push the roof's temp limit. Could be the sunniest of days but that is just the facts
  21. and unfortunately odor was a couple of inches taller ... or had more hops...
