  1. Usually it's the 7th inning or the 9th inning. 7th inning tends to have some of their best hitters. That's why I said it doesn't usually start to get serious until after 7.
  2. You failed to factor in the ineptitude of the Blue Jays' offense.
  3. Orioles don't matter anymore. If they catch us, it just means we're out of it anyhow.
  4. Things don't really get serious until after the 7th. But it would be nice to get out of bloop and blast territory.
  5. Yeah, I get it, it's pointless. Especially with a 12 game sample remaining. It's like saying a .300 hitter should hit .300 in the final 12 games...unless they don't...which they might or mightn't. It's of 0 real informational value.
  6. Predicting .500 teams will go .500, brilliant. Darts would be more fun. We're down to 12 game samples, darts have about as much chance predicting what will happen as previous performance does.
  7. Soriano still inspires little confidence in me. Max Scherzer is Jekyll and Hyde. I trust ol' reliable bullpen though😄
  8. So fangraphs is basically predicting everyone will go .500, which basically means they just flipped a coin on everything and have as much clue as any of us do. Next time they should get monkeys to throw darts at a dart board. At least it would be more interesting.
  9. That garbage opposite field wall scraping home run was a real gut punch. I think the Guardians are the better team at this point and probably win the division, but it's hard to make up three games on a team that you don't face anymore with only 12 games left to go and that's what we would have to do against Chicago. That home run really hurt.
  10. I'll be honest I really expected Texas to disappear by now. f***ers are becoming really annoying. Although at this point if they pass us it just means we've lost touch with the Central Division teams anyway, so I guess we can't worry about what's behind us too much.
  11. I know it's the playoff thread but I was watching Texas and Arizona and my anger boiled over😄
  12. I know it's time to let go, and I will, but just one more time for the record, for all the people that kept arguing it... We f***ing lost the Varsho/Moreno trade. We lost it the day we made it. Hated it from day one. They expected Varsho to grow into something he never did. Moreno has.
  13. Another big series win. Good recovery. Got to keep it going against the kittens.
  14. I think Bateman can run into 6-10 bombs, and that's plenty for him. He just has to hit enough balls hard enough to keep outfield defenses honest so they don't play him like a pitcher hitting and take away the soft liners and bloopers.
  15. I keep thinking the other shoe is going to drop for Bateman at some point. Then he goes to yet another level.
  16. Somebody in the locker room must have ribbed him for not being able to hit home runs recently.
  17. They should just give the three division winners a bye and have a wild card series between the top two wild card teams and cancel the third spot.
  18. Sanchez was a nice dude. I feel kind of bad for him because you could see by the end that he had clearly gotten into his own head about his defense. But we're at the "do what must be done" point of the season. I can see him having a surprise season for some team that's willing to give him an everyday spot. The next Ty France.
  19. The Orioles realistically have almost no chance given that they have to make up four games on the Guardians (they lost the tie breaker) with 15 games remaining without any more head-to-heads. All they can really do is knock us out of it and giftwrap a spot to the Guardians. But they still believe they have a chance, and they will play inspired baseball.
  20. Loses by Texas and the White Sox on a light day of baseball. Texas has a tough upcoming schedule and they just lost a deGrom start, which really stings them. I think it's going to be difficult for Texas to even get to .500. Would be really good for the White Sox to keep choking.
  21. In elementary school, we had a Catholic school and public school that shared the same building. s*** was competitive on the shared playground at lunchtime between the two. During one lunchtime game, I hit a walk-off three run home run on the schoolyard baseball diamond for the Catholic side after the guy before me got hit with a first pitch off his head. We celebrated, I was a hero. Then there was a brawl. Let's just say there were always unnecessary but very real racial undertones between the Public and Catholic schools. Good f***ing Times😅
