  1. I know you can never do this to a hitter but I almost wish Schneider ordered Clement not to swing at the first pitch because that guy just gets too eager and will swing at any fastball they threw in that situation no matter where it was. Holy f*** that swing man. The swing that may have ended our season. I know we wouldn't be here without him so I'm not going to hate but you can almost see it coming from a mile away with him.
  2. That's exactly where they should have been playing against Giminez. That's not luck. And they teach kids to check the outfielders' position before the pitch as base runners. Apparently they don't teach Major Leaguers.
  3. Clement couldn't help himself. His one Achilles heel is his utter impatience. They positioned Giminez well. After seeing him drops soft singles into left field they finally learned. Hey Schneider, how about f***ing putting Barger in Varsho's spot tomorrow you f***ing idiot.
  4. I said that Varsho and Barger should be flipped in the lineup. Barger has easily been better lately.
  5. Been pacing around the home for the past couple of hours. Can't sit still.
  6. Can't come this far and not finish the job. I've had nervous energy throughout the series but today is the first time I'm a f***ing wreck. Got to have a short leash on Gausman, even if he's cruising, he has a tendency to suddenly hit a wall out of nowhere. He's done it plenty of times and he did it in the last game. Have to be ready at a moment's notice. Just find a way to win. I don't care what prayers you have to speak, what rituals you have to adhere to, what sacrifices you must make. Just find a way to win.
  7. It was clear that we needed somebody else, even after Bieber. Initially I had hoped that it could be Manoah. That was little more than a prayer that turned into a pipe dream quickly. Yesavage was it. Like he was IT! There was no else to turn. Amazing how that worked out. I give them credit for having the balls to do it.
  8. He was salty. I mean I sort of get what he was saying, there was some bad defense behind him (which he wants to call out but knows he can't) and Davis actually didn't get all of that first pitch, but he went too far with his comments and really just came across salty. I still don't want to face him again this series. When he went to breaking ball/change up, we really did struggle.
  9. I'd flip Barger and Varsho. Varsho hasn't been bad or anything but Barger is locked in right now.
  10. I'm still in awe of Trey's game yesterday. Considering the circumstances, I got it as the single greatest Blue Jays pitching performance of all time.
  11. At the very least you can use him as a decoy late in the game just by having him grab a bat with intention in the dugout. That alone may be enough to vanquish possible lefty on lefty matchups.
  12. Lots of different things in motion here. Dodgers with an expected change in their lineup. I think it's smart to move Smith up, defense might be suspect. I don't know how Springer is still on the roster with what looked like an oblique, the fact that he's even being considered must mean they have him spaced out on some serious painkillers. However, him being out does allow Bo to stay at DH so I wouldn't go crazy with with forcing Springer here if it is an oblique. Yesavage has been mostly mediocre after that dominant first game. No way of knowing how he'll react to pitching on the road in LA. Mysteries abound...
  13. Well on the downside, they're getting a second quick look at Yesavage and might be even tougher on him. On the upside, he wasn't at his best, and his splitter was not at its best so if he's sharper this time around it might not matter. I do expect Snell to be sharper. Hopefully we can work the count and get him into trouble. With Yamamoto on deck, kind of feel like we've got to get this one.
  14. I was okay with the management of today's game. Yesterday was an absolute disasterclass.
  15. I just shat myself. What kind of f***ing advice was that?
  16. Easy peasy. World Series is a best of three. We're in the exact same situation we were in the last series. Best of three, first game on the road and last two games at home.
  17. I don't mind Varland here. Don't even risk f***ing around with this game. Having said that it's not like he is a bullpen ace, his numbers are quite terrible.
