  1. So is Bassitt now the ace of this staff?
  2. Well done Gausman. Well done. Much better than the unintentional intentional walk.
  3. Once again I don't work for Rogers, if they want to insult the fans' intelligence, you are correct, they could probably get away with it, there's a lot of stupid fans. In fact I would suggest most fans are really really stupid. Scorched earth is what this s*** needs though.
  4. He's our tank commander, should be batting lead off.
  5. How is this a retool? What the hell do we have to retool with? If there was ever an example of an organization that needs a ground-up rebuild, this is it.
  6. This is not a 3-year project. We are starting with almost nothing except whatever we get back in trades and Vlad is the most important trade chip. Besides do you think he wants to be part of a rebuild? And it doesn't get mentioned much anymore but he still not committed to being in great shape as a baseball player. He'll be a not in great shape 30-year-old with the security blanket of a big contract. I will say that making a trade within the division is a very difficult thing to do and most GMs don't have the balls to try it.
  7. Having him for an extra playoff run is very valuable. I don't know if you'll get more for him in the off-season. I think there's a lot of teams out there whose stat heads wet themselves over the idea of getting control of Vladimir Guerrero. I don't think it takes much to excite them. Another couple of weeks of even reasonably good hitting and I think there might be teams that bite.
  8. 10 games. It really doesn't take much for this board to latch onto every last ounce of hope for this team and for Guerrero. We could lose 10 in a row he could go 0 for his next 28 but if we win that 11th and he hits two home runs, everybody will start talking playoffs and 10-year extensions.
  9. I don't work for Rogers and I don't care about any of that, obviously that's out of my hands I'm giving my opinion on what I think is best for this franchise, the corporate f***s can obviously do whatever they want. As far as who's willing to pay what for him, I don't know, put him on the market and find out, there's always surprises lurking especially if it's a team that thinks they can sign him to an extension. I would allow teams to discuss an extension with him. Whatever it takes to maximize our return. He's more valuable to someone else than he is to us given the immediate future of this club.
  10. This team is years away from being back into contention. I don't see the point in holding on to the biggest trade chip we have. He helps move the process along. It doesn't make sense to hold onto him through his prime years on a bad team when we need assets that will line up with whenever the next window is. The problem is people here just can't accept what this team is and where it's heading in the immediate future. It's approaching time to let go. I believe there are teams that may overpay, we've got to put him on the market.
  11. Regardless, he still doesn't fit. We need multiple assets for the rebuild and Vlad being a good hitter this year is THE most critical piece to help get us there. We can't miss on that deal. That's his real value to us now.
  12. I don't think it's going to be a problem because I don't think he's "back". I think he's on a bit of a heater, happens to everybody. Heck even washed Springer has run into a few.
  13. Don't we want a higher draft pick at this point? I mean you obviously don't want him blocking a young player, but outside of that we shouldn't be looking to upgrade anything at this point.
  14. One of the most confounding players I've ever seen.
  15. Yeah, one of the few things that have really gone right.
  16. The words: "It's spring training", should never be followed by anything but a dismissive period.
  17. Man, I obviously never believed in this current core as a championship team, but I didn't think things would go off the rails like this. We're cursed this year. I guess we were due considering how lucky we've been health-wise but between injuries and just the wheels coming off of certain players, we're f***ing toast. Slowly turning into a nightmare scenario.
  18. Unfortunately I never got around to the whale cruise and the aquarium, I wanted to fit it in but the planning never quite worked out. Did enjoy watching a concert at Fenway and the Blue Jays game. Also went to their science center and enjoyed a Michael Jackson Broadway musical as well as just walking the trails. Lots of good eating as well. All in all, I enjoyed Boston.
  19. Unwinding from my trip to Boston. Now tell me more about how the Yankees are clowns.
  20. Nuclear option. f***ing team is cursed this year.
  21. As soon as I saw Pop come in, my head started hanging in shame.
  22. At the game. f*** this front office's complete inability to develop ANY pitching.
