Shapiro does something I can respect. No need to kiss Vladdy's ass. I was shocked he had the balls to not cave to that.
Vlad's agent can pump his tires for him.
They don't have the same caliber frontline pitching. That could still be the difference. They may have enough given the middle of their lineup but I don't see them as heavy favorites as I would if they had better pitching.
Sometimes the first year in a competitive window is your best shot. Might not end up being the case for Baltimore but they were way too complacent at the deadline last year. American League was very winnable.
I think it'll be around 35 per season for however many years to get him locked up. I'd rather spend more for Soto. Because then you have a superstar and you have a big trade return for Vlad. It won't happen, but that would be ideal.
Which they did last year. Still might this year.
The fact of the matter is you were hoping they would absolutely stink this year so you can be a child about it and they didn't and so you're reaching for criticism of a team that doesn't deserve much.
It was almost predictable. Crafty Lefty in a nothing game for his team against a stressed lineup versus a B line up that doesn't give a damn and is trying just not to get hurt. Still a long way to go but this is hardly shocking.
Jays have been very lucky with their rotation, considering they're organizationally completely paper thin. Not as if anybody knew Bowden Francis was secretly Pedro Martinez either.
Holy monkey balls.
No not in a must win game they wouldn't be pulling that stuff. You're not going to risk your entire season to play mind games especially when you still got a couple of really good starters for the wild card round.
I had 6 hours of work I needed to do today. I still got 4 of those hours left, and I REALLY want to watch the second game. I promised myself I wouldn't do this...
Superstar doing superstar things.
I don't know why you would ever try a right-handed breaking ball in on him but so be it.
How's everybody liking this? Hell an appetizer for the postseason here boys.
Maybe you can argue that Iglesias should have been in for two innings to begin with, but it certainly wasn't egregious not to do so especially if you want him available tomorrow. Fans just doing what angry fans do.
