  1. Funny enough, I was going to post that Rivera did pretty well with just one pitch. It's not comparing Sanchez to Rivera, its just the obvious example of someone being very successful just using one pitch. The key is the hard velocity and late movement.
  2. Hide your women!
  3. I went to University in Guelph with a dude named Rishton. If you happen to be an engineer from Guelph..Hello and Go Blue Jays!
  4. I think the problem was that he was only at twenty something pitches in the eighth. I was like this is perfect, he's going to be under 30 pitches and we got three innings out of him. Than Texas started to rally. You take Price out earlier but there was a lefty or two that came up. Do you want David Price against those lefties? Or Aaron Sanchez, who has struggled against lefties at times? Aaron Loup is not going to be used over Price. Unfortunately his pitches got all the way up to 50.
  5. I think after seeing what happened with Bumgarner last year, you realize using your best pitcher in unconventional circumstances, can make the difference. I'm sure the Astros wish they would have maybe tried something like that. David Price will sign where the best offer for him comes from. You literally get one chance to pick your work environment, terms of your contract. These has pretty much been dictated to you your entire career. Its not all about money...but its kind of all about money.
  6. Simply put. RA Dickey has a tendency to give up home runs from time to time. Choo and Beltre were 4/4 against him yesterday. Another hit, and than I believe we were at their spots in the order. If they get hits, especially a home run...its 7-4 or even 7-5. You don't throw home playoff teams life preserver's, you step on their heads.
  7. Lol. Yes be very very qwiet....were hunting wabbits..err playing baseball. Don't want the players to feel any pressure. I want Game 5 to be like a golf or tennis match everytime the Jays go to do something. That won't be incredibly awkward and add more pressure.
  8. I like this rotation with perhaps Mike Leake instead of Anderson/Chen. Though a lefty like either of those two would be nice. Also perhaps a Connor Greene sighting in their at some point.
  9. Just simply a statement you can't make. Considering your account name though, if you had got your wish earlier this year....we likely would not be in the playoffs. Yeah we need a playoff performer like Michael Wacha...how'd his start go yesterday? 1-6 playoff record with a 4.99 ERA. David Price you say? Nope Clayton Kershaw's playoff stats. It turns out the teams you play in the playoffs are really really gud. It also turns out many times, these ace's pitch on short rest, at weird start times...after 200-220 innings and pitching since February.
  10. Hmmmm...yes of course
  11. Absolutely agree. Doing it from time to time (Hoffman,Norris, Syndergaard), while proving you can effectively evaluate and develop young controllable talent (Stroman, Osuna, Sanchez, Pillar, Goins, Travis), is a little different.
  12. Silly numbers at AA/AAA are not the same as silly numbers in the Show. There have been 100's of prospects who have dominated in the minor leagues for a year or two. There are 5-10 per generation who do it for an extended period of time in the big league's, while staying healthy.
  13. That's kind of funny. I'll take the ten percent that would have made that trade without thinking twice 10/10 times. Nothing against Daniel Norris. I think he's going to be great.
  14. Its not about "WINNING" a trade. Its about making your major league team better...you have to give up something to do that.
  15. Of course that's factored in. Established major league ace >>> three pitching PROSPECTS. Even if for one half season and the playoffs. The key word being post season baseball.
  16. For one thing. I did not think David Price would be available. For another there were questions as to whether Matt Boyd could succeed at the next level (still is somewhat). Labourt had a good arm but there were questions of control. Both Labourt and Boyd had great first half's of the season. So yes I agree that they got a good return. I'm saying what my reaction would have been prior to this season starting.
  17. If you told me at the beginning of the year I could get David Price for a Division clinching pennant drive and the playoffs for Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd and Jairo Labourt...I would have told you maybe... if Dave Dombrowski decided to start smoking crack.
  18. No s***. LOL at this thread
  19. Great hire by the Braves! Good luck Kiley!
  20. Well you can hide,or you can run..Hide under a rock,'til the war is done...Play it safe and don't make a sound...But NOT US we won't back down. True Believer's! All The Way. You and I We live our life in our own way...We never really listen to what they say... The kind of faith, that doesn't fade away....We are the TRUE BELIEVERS. Bouncing Souls.. I believe...Let's go Blue Jays
  21. Texas on Wednesday...than whoever wins between KC and Houston. I think we match up a little better against KC, especially with Holland out now. But I like our chances against either.
  22. Price threw 50 pitches, so a little more probably than bullpen. It would appear though that may line him up to piggyback Stroman if we can finish this off. It would also likely be Estrada's throw day, so he would be available for an inning or so Wednesday.
  23. Wow, kind of went straight from 0 to psychopath. My suggestion would be to ask her what your having tonight....than tell her what you want tomorrow. But hey by all means I can see the correlation between me pointing out we should worry about the Championship series once we win the Division series; to beating your wife.
  24. It was used as his starter's (Price, Stroman) throw day. I said I wanted to see Price piggyback Dickey. This was a brilliant use of resources. The funny thing is those who were screaming that Dickey shouldn't start, will scream Dickey should not have come out.
  25. Texas on Wednesday. This is a ridiculous thread.
