  1. I believe he caught the dumb from Kevin Barker.
  2. So kind of ironic story. I had three tickets for the August 2nd game. It was my son's first ball game. My girlfriend got pneumonia and had to go to the hospital that morning. I still took my son to the game and gave her ticket to my room mate from University, who lives in Toronto. Does this make me a bad person? I at least left early...in the eighth inning!
  3. I would guess it will be somewhere between the two figures, if they want anything back for him. I would guess they don't have to eat anything, if they are willing to trade him for one or two, high risk, mid ceiling lower level prospects.
  4. http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/canada/toronto/toronto-blue-jay-justin-smoak-s-home-run-ball-winds-up-with-biggest-fan-1.3189035 I heard Jerry Howarth talk about this yesterday. Kind of a neat story. I'm not sure if it is linked by someone, somewhere else on the board.
  5. I'm sorry to say, that's not cool. Reyes frustrated me as much as any Blue Jay has. That being said, he played hard, when he could. Wishing an injury on someone is not what baseball is about.
  6. Drive it...and enjoy the ride.
  7. I have watched this thread throughout the year, and never weighed in because I had nothing nice to say. That being said, I think I have a solution... I should be manager of the Blue Jays. It's going to be increasingly tougher to get tickets, and this way I would have a good seat to every game for the rest of the year. I would let my two and half year old son manage Junior Jays days, and we could really see how little the manager affects the outcome of games. The first Saturday that Toopy and Binou were playing the left side of the infield, instead of Tulo and JD may cause the adults at RC to revolt.
  8. Tulo smile counter starting now....Reyes smiled too much....Tulo doesn't smile enough....incredible
  9. I'm sorry, I'm all for advanced stats. 12-0 trumps stats for me..sorry. I've had to wear the same underwear for this entire 9-game winning streak, because that is obviously why they keep on winning. Anybody want to smell if I'm serious?
  10. I have sat Graveman on the bench of my FB team for this start. Which means he will probably have a good game.
  11. You do realize what our record is with him in the lead-off spot. I could probably not think of any more silly of a thing to discuss. At least wait until we LOSE ONE GAME...with him batting in the lead-off spot.
  12. My only response to this would have to be......we have never had a baseball game cancelled due to "Civil Unrest" nor have we ever had a baseball game played in front of a crowd of exactly zero. You do understand that this would not be the year for you to throw rock's in your "glass pipe" house. Oh, and "Deadpool is Right"
  13. I think fans are naturally jealous of the money athlete's make playing the game they love, probably even more than the athlete. When an athlete signs a big contract and than doesn't produce the results, fan's jealousy of that money is increased exponentially. It's a paying fan's option to boo or cheer. I started this thread because, I think fans have the opportunity to show new current Jays the class and intelligence the real baseball fans of the Jays have. Danny V and Brett deserve a show of appreciation,in their first at bats. I won't be at the game tonight, but I would be proud to be a Jays fan, if some of the fans who are, share my feelings. There is nothing better than being passionate about sports, and winning with class.
  14. You just described 60-70 percent of all professional athletes.
  15. But wait wins, era, whip, saves...these are all stats in my fantasy baseball league. That means they are clearly important....at least to my fantasy team.
  16. Just for his first at bat. A nice reception of appreciation; for playing hard and bleeding blue while here. Than after that, he goes to being the "them" of us against them.
  17. I'm going to call sarcasm on this post. Hutch is well aware he has not pitched well. Let's keep in mind this is his second season after Tommy John. He threw a lot of innings last year. He is also still a young pitcher. Young pitcher's developing at the major league level are inconsistent more times than not. I think after this start, if he struggles, he will be sent down with the off days, so Carrera or Thole can be added.
  18. Some people do truly enjoy being miserable.....
  19. I take my son Sunday, to his first baseball game at which David Price debuts and the Jays finish a sweep of the best team in the AL. That's personal, the Jays making it to th ALDS, would be satisfactory.
  20. Okay so AA turned Reyes,Hoffman, Tinoco, Castro, Norris, Boyd, Labourt, Brentz, Wells, Rassmusen, Tirado, Cordero into Troy Tulowitzki, David Price, Mark Lowe, LaTroy Hawkins and Ben Revere. He managed to only add the 8 million in salary he said they had. He filled the holes everyone was screaming we had. I could not be happier as a Blue Jays fan.
  21. I really hope so. I just heard Price might not start until Monday. I got tickets because I thought he would be starting. Please baseball god's let my son's first game be David Price's debut with the Jays
  22. I think Brett Phillips is going to be a player.
  23. Put a claim in on Brandon Beachy, and if Morse clears waivers..try to sign him to a minor league contract???
