  1. It would seem that statement has been made quite a bit over the last 85 years or so.
  2. Just post it.
  3. Anytime you have young adults or teenagers getting huge amounts of money, there is potential for disaster. I think it has a lot to do with the type of people you are surrounded by. In all fairness there's been a fair number of tales of people who won the lottery, and their life went to s***. I think Justin Bieber is starting to figure it out. I know the House of Blessing in Stratford, certainly appreciates what he does for them.
  4. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/tampa-bay-rays-top-10-prospects/ BA's is a little different than BP's. I also love reading Baseball America's chats.
  5. That's a "sweatpack" by the looks of things.
  6. Why is JPR, who works for the New York Mets discussing the Toronto Blue Jays off-season budget? What is an off-season budget anyway?
  7. I know I'm annoyed by his time in Toronto. Yes former employee tries to stir up s***. This is the first time this has ever happened.
  8. Anyone have any idea of term? BurlingtoBandit and ClosetJaysFan in FAP
  9. I just would guess that he didn't read that particular scouting report. He could have been quoting a Blue Jays source. I'll stop passing judgement. I'll tell you what his fastball is first time I see him pitch in ST.
  10. One week to BA Jays Top 10. Today is Tampa Bay.
  11. Hmmm. That's a very fair statement. I just don't consider 60 grade fastball and 50 command as "average". Though in this day and age of fastball velocity, it may be.
  12. It means everyone either really likes you, or is secretly jealous of you.
  13. Unfortunately Ben Nicholson-Smith didn't spend the five minutes King spent to find Biagini in the SF Giants prospects and read the scouting report. It's not like that's his job or anything. I can understand you assuming that a Jays reporter would report facts on the players they are reporting on.
  14. Yes and no. I don't think he will be as effective as Liam Hendricks, for multiple reasons. Liam had 180 major league innings prior to 2015. Liam had "average" stuff as a starter with good command. When his velocity increased, he already had good command. Your concerns of where Biagini's command will be if his velocity spikes is fair, I believe. He has not pitched above AA. That does not mean he will fail in the Majors, we won't know until he gets the chance.
  15. Boom! Thats funny! Yesterday I was at a board meeting and a woman admitted that she spent a long period of her life thinking LOL was "lots of love".

  17. Not in the least.
  18. I believe the equalization payments were scrapped because we were spending a crazy of amount on International signings. The dollar also at one point was worth more than the American dollar in 2008, which I'm sure also played a part.
  19. Did you read the scouting report? I think he will throw as hard or harder, it is unlikely he will be as effective.
  20. I don't know he tops out at 95-96 as a starter. I think perhaps with the off-season program the Jays use, and one-inning stint may even throw harder than Liam. Most certainly great use of roster space, and 50K to potentially gain an asset. I like it a lot better than giving Ryan Madson 22 million over 3 years!
  21. When I was in school, I tried to line up as many afternoon and evening classes as possible!
  22. I don't know, but it kind of makes sense. Because there is no real guarantee which will be the high leverage spot in the last three innings. It is probably an equal probability of 7, 8 or 9th inning. It would make sense to have 2-3 shutdown dominant relief pitchers. Especially since old school thinking still dictates that you always use your closer in the ninth. The idea that Kelvin Hererra was as important as Wade Davis was as important as Greg Holland. Therefore each was also interchangeable and could move in to replace the other. For us it's that Osuna, Sanchez and Cecil , who have all closed at least a little bit.
  23. I like Franco and Nick Williams in the long term. Jeanmar Gomez,David Hernandez or Luis Garcia slide into closer for Philly now? I see Jimmy Cordero is on their depth chart.
  24. He only does electronic autographs.
