    I'm being serious. You're a smart guy and I value your opinion. We're 24 games in (15%) - what's your gut say the chances of this team making the playoffs is? I appreciate the baseball is highly variable and subject to change quickly, but I think it's a pretty bleak outlook moving forward. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what we can get when we trade Bo.

    I assume the season being "over" would mean we don't make the playoffs. What's your guess on the probability the Jays make the playoffs right now? Less than 20%?

    Remember the quote from the new hitting coach? Something about how he was preaching violent aggression or some bullsh*t. My personal opinion was the team decided to target players with better hit tools, figuring that's the hardest thing to teach. They can help them with launch angles and help them add power (which typically happens as they reach their prime). They probably think the hit tool is more effective against the high velo world we now live in. In theory, it doesn't seem like a terrible approach. But it is. It f*cking blows goats and isn't working.

    Bassitt is due for a dud unfortunately. In a time where we simply can't afford for it to happen. Awful position to be in right now.

    I think we'll be lucky if Taters ever posts a wRC+ > 115 in any of his 5 seasons in Toronto. I don't think he's very good. I'm happy we didn't pay a lot for him, but I don't think he can be the 3rd best hitter on a winning team.

    It wasn't announced when I made that post either. I was just suggesting that would be the right move - and bam - Jays announced it like an hour later.

    Yes - 100% it's my thing. My optimism is gone for a bit and you should expect lots of sharp, belligerent posts from me in the future. This team is f*cking useless and I can literally see it draining the enjoyment/fandom out of my 9 year old. What do you think the probability of the Jays going 3-3 or better over the next 6 road games? I think we'd be ecstatic with a 3-3 record.

    I mean - no harm in moving guys around, but it seems doubtful it will matter much. We knew this team needed things to break right for it to be a successful season. Not much evidence that's going to happen (yet?). New hitting coach, same sh*tty results unfortunately. We really needed to add another bat or 2 in the offseason. Pederson, Robert Jr, Kepler - guys who can hit 😉
