  1. The only thing worse than watching the Jays these days MUST be writing about them. Kudos to the guys pumping out articles day after day about this sh*tty team for minimal views...
  2. Because if he's lucky, he'll be a 4th or 5th OFer at the ML level and needs to learn how to remain somewhat useful while never playing. That's my guess at least. In the meantime, can someone show him how to hold a bat property?
  3. The only reason Toronto could use him is to trade him at the deadline...
  4. Fast forward to the deadline. Maybe Bo will have 3 HRs by then and we can get another 35 FV AAAA type prospect for him! Then fast forward to 2029 when this team is able to contend again. Almost everything in between is going to be difficult to watch boys.
  5. I also remember Robbie Ray.
  6. Imagine a world where good things happened to the Jays once in awhile. It would be nice wouldn't it?
  7. I'd never heard of Gage Stanifer - now I have. Thanks!
  8. Yesavage, Stephens and Watts-Brown are all pitching well to start the season. It will be interesting to see how aggressive we get with them. Could all 3 be in AA by the end of this season?
  9. I had not heard that - thanks for sharing. Really too bad for a kid who burst onto the scene in 2023. I can't imagine how difficult that would be - playing ball all your life, chasing the dream and then getting a taste of it, with huge success, only for it to all come crashing down. At least he has a ring I guess?
  10. I think this is it. He's a 26 year old player with a high floor and the Jays get him for what should be all of his prime seasons. The team needed to add talent and players aren't lining up to play here. It's a calculated risk that you get the best years from Gimenez. It is an expensive risk - there's no doubt and it's easy to say it's wasted money that ought to have been spent elsewhere - but who else wants our money? Not many 26 year old players entering their prime - that's for sure. We could have given money to some aging vets, but we know they can fall off a cliff at any point. I have no idea if Gimenez will work out for the Jays. If he's a 100 wRC+ hitter who plays GG defense and brings some MUCH needed speed to the lineup - then I think it's a great move. If he's a 90 wRC+ hitter, than this probably isn't as rosey. Regardless, I understand and support the gamble.
  11. I thought so. This either goes to show you how quickly hitting coaches can go from being one of the best in the sport to pure sh*t - unworthy of a job (much like Martinez). Or it shows you how little impact they have.
  12. Void if any sort of evidence, this doesn't really mean much to me. Sorry. Dante also left the Jays in Feb 2022. I wonder if the abilities of the players on the team have anything to do with the performance of the offense...
  13. Jays offense was one of the best in baseball for 2021 and 2022, I think it's reasonable to give Martinez 2023 and 2024 before firing him at the end of the year. Texas was great in 2023 and pulled the plug on the guy early into 2025. Just a little faster hook than Toronto had. I'll be curious to see if it makes any difference in Texas.
  14. It feels like you shouldn't have to explain this...
  15. Ironically, when people started calling for the Jays to fire all their hitting coaches, I believe Ecker's name came up often as someone people thought was a great hitting coach who was on the leading edge. I could be wrong about that...but Texas was a Top 5 offense in 2023, so the timelines make sense. And we already brought in a new hitting coach this year in Popkins. You want him fired after 34 games? That's savage.
  16. Javy Baez is back from the dead perhaps? 1 WAR on the year already and a 139 wRC+ Castro Bros did a breakdown of the changes he's made in his swing, which suggests there's a higher chance this is sustainable. Huge for the Tigers really.
  17. I mean that's fair to a point, but I think it was still in the realm of a reasonable decision. Yimi either gets him out or he doesn't. He went with the vet who's been a beast so far this year over the wild youngster in Yariel. Very hard to put Yariel into a bases loaded situation IMO. He's just too unpredictable. It didn't work out. The Jays will blow saves this year. Everyone does.
  18. After the sh*t show in his last outting, they may have felt it was important for him to finish on a high note. But I do generally agree, sneaking another couple of outs from Gausman would have been ideal.
  19. Oh I think that's a bit harsh. I think Yimi gives us the best chance to win that game, even if he's gassed. Only other guy I'd consider over him in that situation is Little and I think he's been used a ton lately as well.
  20. Dude, he's thrown in 2 of the last 3 days and the first was a 2 inning outting. And he clearly was running on fumes last night. He correctly wasn't available.
  21. That is massive. Our 4th OFer folks. Stud
