  1. I think it's doubtful Stroman returns as a starter. I'm hoping he's Tim Lincecum out of the bullpen in 2012 (or whenever he was dominate in that role)
  2. Some guy called into Dean Blundell this morning and said they should make Mark Lowe a starter. It was awesome.
  3. David Wright could if he could overcome this spinal thing. 52 WAR through age 32. I find it amazing Brian Giles had a higher career WAR than Vladdy...
  4. I'll throw out Carlos Beltran, but I think his body broke down just a little too early. He has more career WAR than Robbie Alomar, but I think he'll miss out.
  5. - Goldschmidt's career wRC+ is 33rd all time right now - he's well on his way. - Votto might have to stay remarkably healthy and productive late in his career to do it (perhaps like Helton aged...), but right now his career wRC+ is 19th all time and thus he deserves consideration IMO. I find it amazing that Beltre has a shot to reach 3,000 hits if he can stay healthy for another couple of years. Always seemed like he was a disappointment as a hitter (save 2004) until he went to Boston in 2010. He'll have 9 full seasons with a wRC+ at or under 106 if you include this year. That said - clear cut HOFer.
  6. Who are the rentals? Price, Lowe and Hawkins? Tulo and Revere are under control.
  7. Thanks for helping a guy out Boxcar.
  8. Seriously - did you see him pitch vs. the Jays like 5 days ago? This man is lights out. You realise there are stats the include park factors eh?
  9. Apparently I don't know how to insert a .gif That is frustrating.
  10. Nobody's bothering because it's irrelevant. He's good right now, we need him right now and he likely won't be back next year.
  11. He's a rental.....we'll take the Delabar fluke season all day long here in 2015. Like Delabar, he's a guy who's been hurt a ton in his career. He's healthy and he's fantastic this year.
  12. He is a rental isn't he?
  13. I agree with this. I was thinking we really have little to no team speed after losing Reyes. This is solid IMO, but the team must hate Pompey....
  14. Lowe would be an amazing pickup.
  15. They absolutely better do this. Although - Price seems like a douche, I can see him putting a kibosh on that idea.
  16. Which he's had for over the past 600 PA's....when is it no longer bad luck?
  17. You guys so smart - thanks for keeping me around here. All interesting stuff. It's also kind of funny to reference Smoak as a switch hitter when we seemingly don't let him bat right handed ever. I appreciate what Colabello's done for the team, but I would have loved to see what Smoak could do given full time at bats vs. both LHP and RHP. Maybe there's no "growth" left and maybe he's destine never to be a full time player anyway, but getting 25 at bats vs. LHP in a season is going to kill any possibility there was.
  18. Do we really think Smoak's defense is stunning? Fangraphs has him as a negative defender every year. I know their defensive thing isn't the best, but I'm not sure 'stunning' an accurate verb...perhaps only when referenced in comparison to E5 and Colabello. Average comes to mind for me...but you guys are smarter than me. Learn me.
  19. Welcome aboard. Solid first post!
  20. don't hold your breath.
  21. Again, nowhere to play in Chicago.
