  1. https://www.mlb.com/news/the-most-extreme-swings-in-mlb-in-2025 Another cool article. Depressing to see Vlad has the lowest attack angle in baseball, which is why he can't lift the ball consistently.
  2. https://www.mlb.com/news/how-d-backs-corbin-carroll-fixed-his-swing Man - that's a good article. It feels like the technology and our understanding of the baseball swing and why it will and won't work is growing at an incredible pace. Hopefully catching up to the pitching information...
  3. Is Jordan Walker fixable at this point? Surely he needs a change of scenery? I was looking at the "swing speed" leaderboard on Baseball Savant and #2, #3 and #4 are Caminero, Walker and Adell and none of those guys are hitting well at all. I wonder if there's any correlation. #1 and #5 are Oneill Cruz and Schwarber, so obviously swinging hard can work, but I wonder if we'll learn that some batters produce better by swinging at 90% of their max to increase their control of the barrel. My research on this is clearly incomplete.
  4. Agreed. He seems like he's a solid 4th or 5th OFer on the strong side of a platoon. The more he plays, the more likely he'll get exposed and pitchers will adjust and find a hole or 2 in his swing - then well see if he can make the necessary adjustments, which he'll need to to "stick". The most likely outcome is he'll hang around the league for another 3-4 years until his skills decline, which he probably won't be able to overcome and will bounce around in the minors before calling it quits at like age 35. Kudos to him for continuing to grind it out at age 30 and earn some regular playing time at the ML level. He's certainly living the dream right now and I'm rooting for him. He certainly has the grit necessary to succeed and we need affordable ML bats who can contribute.
  5. Run differential is starting to look better boys...let's keep rolling. A lot of local schools are doing end of year trips to the dome tomorrow. Let's give them a good game please!
  6. They were gifted Regans and Erceg for absolutely nothing. I can't decide if those were shrewd moves or just plain stupidity by the Rangers and A's. Probably a bit of both. I guess kudos to KC for developing/tweaking them? The fact Garcia got 600+ PA's in a season they made the playoffs tells you all you need to know about their offense. If you look under the hood, the breakout may be somewhat real, but it's not like he was even that good in the minors. I guess we'll see!
  7. KC continues to defy the odds. 4 games over .500 with just 2 hitters above league average and one of them is Garcia, who's hit like Ryan Goins the past 2 years (69 wRC+ in over 600 PA). Sal Perez has been awful - he's due to fall off a cliff at any point. This can't be sustainable.
  8. Who saw Geraldo Perdomo being 4th in the majors (offensively) in WAR at this point in the season? Doubt the improvements with the bat are completely sustainable, but he may be developing into a star player at age 25.
  9. That's a nice W boys...Great to see the 2 guys we need to start hitting for power go deep.
  10. You're spot on with this. We believe we just had a conversation about what was wrong with him and one of the logical discussion points was that perhaps he just wasn't as good as originally expected. Perfectly legitimate discussion for a message board to have. I don't get people trying to dunk on others like it was this forgone conclusion he was one of the best pitchers in baseball.
  11. The fact they need to use openers twice a week is insane. Yamamoto, Snell, Glasnow, May, Gonsolin, Miller, Kershaw, Ohtani, Knack, River Ryan, etc. They were seemingly one of the deepest and best rotations in recent memory on paper - even with Kershaw and Ohtani unable to pitch to start the year. Is there any timeline for Ohtani to pitch again?
  12. Who would have thought with the Dodgers starting pitching depth, that they'd lead the league in bullpen innings pitched? Crazy
  13. Coach RAC (@racreacts) • Instagram reel WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM 2,372 likes, 22 comments - racreacts on May 19, 2025: "Dear baseball parents, This is what a 1.7 pop time looks like... Kid's got an arm!
  14. This seems totally possible to me. He may be just "saving" his arm and trying to give it more time to rehab it back to 100%. No sense "letting it loose" if the opportunity doesn't present itself. It said the Jays were working him back to 180 foot throws, but it never said he has to be able to throw 100% and hit his peak OF velo to return. It's a possibility they let him comeback earlier, knowing he wouldn't have this peak velo (yet), but that he also no longer has to worry about re-injuring it (more than normal).
  15. Yeah it's crazy. I don't recall another player who's numbers told a completely different story than the eye test. Even though the #'s don't show it, it certain "feels" like Vlad never delivers in the clutch.
  16. I saw this happen last year. I could be 100% wrong, but I think it was Jansen last year too...
  17. It is great to see him hitting for power again...
  18. 100% it is. Power bats are worth more right? I don't think anyone excepted another 44 HRs from him. We aren't paying him for 44 HRs a year...
  19. Red Sox reveal Green Monster-themed City Connect uniforms https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3286867 Those look pretty cool IMO.
  20. I tend to agree. Targeting Santander always made me uncomfortable, but I certainly didn't complain once I saw the terms of the contract. I also like how much he's regarded as a leader. Maybe drop him to 6th for a bit and take the pressure off?
  21. Agreed. And at the end of the day $13M a season isn't crippling. It's also not like last year was some major breakout. It was his best year, but it was only a 5-10% bump on the previous 2 years. Not overly surprising for a 29 year old to have his "best" year. That's how hitting your prime works. The breakout season Profar had last year was much more "questionable" IMO and it turned out there was a reason for it. Everyone wanted more power on this team. Santander at the contract he got was a very reasonable way to add power. It's also not uncommon for players to struggle in their first year in a new org. I think we all hope he turns it around soon.
  22. Jacob Wilson is so amazingly unique. Looks like he's on his way to becoming the next young superstar. Future 3000 hit member?
