  1. Christ I'm probably going to get some hookers and cocaine. Days like this don't come around very often!
  2. And for the first time in the 10+ years I've been going to Florida, the BLUE JAYS are actually playing in Port Charlotte while I'm down there.....Tickets bought - boooooya!!!! Best stadium, best team, no driving. Just livin' the dream.
  3. I'm with ya Box (except the whole sister/orgasm thing...that was totally weird. You're on your own there). I've removed the sugar and continue to slowly remove the cream, but I too have hit the wall.
  4. Have you ever ordered coffee from Starbucks? That's a challenging job. Atkins to the server - "I'll have a Triple, Venti, Half Sweet, Non-Fat, Caramel Macchiato, one Grande, Quad, Nonfat, One-Pump, No-Whip, Mocha and one Venti Iced Skinny Hazelnut Macchiato, Sugar-Free Syrup, Extra Shot, Light Ice, No Whip.....all to go - and make it snappy, Shap's on a heater here....we need to build a rotation in AAA!!!
  5. Lord help us - keep me away from opening day. 45,000 drunk bandwagon fans who aren't even watching the game and 5,000 diehards who will regret going.... Game 2 is the one to aim for.
  6. DJ Davis in the top 10 makes me puke in my mouth a little.
  7. Costa Rica to April in Toronto will be a harsh change in climate!
  8. That is a sweet t-shirt....where do I get one of those?
  9. echo's in here today....odd.
  10. Dodgers....they get everyone!
  11. Is there somewhere I can view this? The original link seems to be for live feed only
  12. That looks pretty awesome. It actually gets me excited to see the results.
  13. The home of the Port Charlotte Stone Crabs has this awesome boardwalk around the entire outfield. There's a big bar out in LF and in RF you overlook the bullpens. Berm seating along the LF and RF walls (dirt cheap pricing) and a large playground equipment area makes it perfect for families with kids (ie, me). Ample parking, which is easy to get to and out of. I take my boys to a Tampa Rays spring training game every year. Wouldn't miss it. That said - I've seen more Mikie Mahtook at bats then one would ever desire to. It was quite a surprise for me to see him called up to the majors last year and actually go on a phenomenal run (1.8 WAR in 115 PA's - 41 games).
  14. I know it's not the Jays, but Tampa's stadium in Port Charlotte is by far the best one I've been to (I've been to see the Jays, Red Sox - in the fenway replica and the Twins FWIW). Florida Auto Exchange Stadium is pretty much a s*** hole.
  15. wRC+ of 141 in 2013 wRC+ of 170 in 2014 Those are park adjusted numbers, they are GLORIOUS and have nothing to do with Coors Field.
  16. I actually think there's some truth to this. I mean those with the "logic / thinker" personality trait can easily rationalize that organizing your lineup in the traditional manner an extremely outdated strategy and the term "lead off" is stupid, as it's only guaranteed for 1 at bat per game. Unfortunately - not everyone falls into the "logic / thinker" category and we have to deal with the other half of the population who are the "feeling" type. They F everything up (in all aspects of life).
  17. Actually there is a "formula" for optimizing your lineup (which someone smarter than me can explain) - it isn't highest to lowest OBP.

  19. Yeah those are what I'm talking about......I realise they all have access to a ton of information - I'm just didn't think there were any black and white answers yet. Wasn't TB adding sensors and looking to further advance the study of pitching injuries just last year? That's all I'm saying.
  20. That's the question I'd love to know.......how much do front offices consider mechanics and the unproven theory's around them. Also, the 2014-2015 Indians were in a much different position than the 2016 Jays. If they leave Carrasco and Salazar as starters and they breakdown - then so be it.....the team is building and trying to add assets and in their situation, the risk is worth the reward. The 2016 Jays are built to win now. If they toss Osuna in the rotation early on and he sinks or gets hurt, it could have a significant impact on their chances of winning this year. Perhaps the risk is not currently worth the reward with Osuna. God what I'd give for an hour to pick Shapiro's brain.
  21. Yeah I hear what you're saying - that's why I acknowledged it would depend on whether he wants to bet on himself or not. I suspect relievers acknowledge how volatile they are and thus there's certainly an argument to be made for taking guaranteed money over the higher AAV. I think there's a good chance he'd be more interested in a 3 year $30M deal than a 1 year $15-$17M deal (as he should get more than Madson)
  22. Ryan Madson just got $27M guaranteed. He's only thrown 63 innings over the past 4 years and was less valuable last year than Storen was in either of the last 2 years. Something tells me he'll be able to get a lot more on the open market than our QO. The question is - will he "bet" on himself, take the QO, then cash in the following season.
  23. I'll ask this again. Does anyone think they Jays are reluctant to stretch him out as a starter because he has inverted W mechanics (which may have lead to his previous TJS)?
  24. Are we seriously debating whether Pillar would be the leadoff hitter? WTF. He's a below average hitter in every respect. Even if he makes a big improvement, he likely goes from a 93 wRC+ hitter to a league average hitter. Tulo is one year removed from a .432 OBP, 170 wRC+ season (.391 OBP, 141 wRC+ in 2013) Pillar couldn't touch that level of excellence in his wet dreams. Unless you think Tulo is completely done as a hitter, with no chance to rebound, then any logical person wants Tulo getting more at bats than Pillar.
  25. I like this approach. Question is - is it tacky to put a retired name on one of the new style jerseys...or do you need an old school jersey for an old school player?
