  1. f*** off Barker and stop making s*** up you scab. https://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2018/10/03/how-mlb-attendance-dropped-below-70-million-for-first-time-in-15-years/#53e9fd1761bf Total attendance has been flat lined for the past 20 years. Of interest from this article: For the Blue Jays, the drop was due to how they released tickets to resellers. “As we progressed in our business model, we didn’t think it was advantageous to have 50% of our tickets controlled by the secondary market,” Blue Jays president and CEO Mark Shapiro said as the season was getting underway.
  2. If you're going to continue citing average and RBI's in support of your arguments - you're probably not going to enjoy your experience on this board. Regarding the bold. I don't think you understand how WAR works.
  3. Dude - I think we all need to get to know you better. Can you answer these? 1. are you Rob Ducey? 2. are you a troll? 3. do you really believe average, ERA and counting stats are a good way to judge how good or valuable a player is? Russell Martin is the 10th best catcher of all time (in terms of WAR) and we signed him on the perfect win curve projection and he provided incredible value to this team. We extended Bautista AFTER his 54 HR (6.6 WAR) season in 2010...not what I would call "still developing". Rogers has spent a lot of money on this team. We are consistently in the top 10 in payroll. Has that meant LOTS of FA signings? No....but I'd suggest you go research major FA signings in the MLB and report back on how successful those have been for teams over the past 10 years. What you'll find is it often doesn't pan out. FA is a tool teams can use to put them over the top; however, it's been shown over and over that using it as your main tool for building a team is often fools gold. You seem new, and I don't want to rip you too much, but you say dumb things a lot it seems (which is why I asked if you're a troll). Sorry if that's harsh. I will tell you though that there are a lot of really smart baseball minds on this board. If you keep an open mind and read/listen/comprehend what they say you'll probably learn a lot (I know I have).
  4. If we could please discuss how awful his extension was again - that would awesome. Thanks.
  5. Jeff Blair's a f***ing idiot. Buckner was a perfect example of a player who accumulated counting stats - but wasn't actually that good at baseball. That said - RIP.
  6. why would Machado sign in SD?
  7. Take a gander at what's happening in SD to see how quickly things can change. 66-96 in 2018 and 2 games over .500 this year. Or the Braves in 2017 v. the Braves in 2018 and 2019. Both teams have added young talent to a group of existing pieces and when you break it down, the likes of Vlady, Bo, Jansen, Biggio, Pearson, Murphy, Thornton + payroll flexibility is fairly comparable to the pieces those teams have added. I'm not saying it's a done deal, but things can change quickly.
  8. I mean I guess we could. I am a little short on toilet paper.
  9. I think he thought Gibby didn't want to sit through this rebuild, all the other good managers were taken and Charlie seemed like a nice guy.
  10. I'm just lost on how you ended up on a tangent about Stroman's height. I assume you're trying to link that to a discussion on Pardinho (who's not tall), but it just seemed super random.
  11. Harper sure has a lot of disappointing seasons.
  12. What happened to this guy? He went from a 3 WAR player to useless in a hurry.
  13. Remember when they played him at 1st base and people said his defense was so good there that the Dodgers shouldn't move him? f*** me people.
  14. Bellinger is on pace for approximately 12.9 WAR this year. If Seager ever returns to form, coupled with Pederson, Muncy and Verdugo - that's a nasty group of kids in their mid to late 20's. I'll ask this. Who has a better career. Bellinger or Harper?
  15. If you're just looking at ability and pitch repertoire - Borucki probably has a lower floor. If you factor in health, the bottom drops out. Unfortunately, health is a major factor for any pitcher and thus Borucki is a complete wild card at this point.
  16. He's Sam Gaviglio...what did you expect? You thought he'd morphed into stud reliever? That and he's probably been overused.
  17. Seriously though - I've see the ToeBro permanently remove the toe nail from a woman who did Taekwondo(or something like that). Her big toenails were f***ed from all the kicking she did. So bad they would never grow back in properly so the ToeBro removed the nails and did something to prevent them from ever growing back. I wonder if that's an option? or does the nail provide some of the stability you need?
  18. f*** me. Send that man to the ToeBro! Full disclosure - this video is f***ing gross.
  19. This is true. At some point, this finger issue may finally give the organization the ability to give up on this guy. It feels like we're obligated to see if he can recapture his 2016 form; however, it certainly appears we'll never see it again. This give them an easy out to try him out of the pen before ultimately trading or cutting him.
  20. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/sunday-notes-blue-jays-prospect-nate-pearson-is-rising-fast-as-is-his-heater/ Nate Pearson porn. NSFW.
  21. Man - who saw that coming? what an incredible breakout.
