  1. ahead of Ryan Noda
  2. walks like a champ. beauty step out too.
  3. 15) Ronny Brito, SS, Grade C+: Age 19, signed out of Dominican Republic in 2015 for $2,000,000; hit .295/.359/.496 with 11 homers, 23 walks, 78 strikeouts in 234 at-bats between Dominican Summer League and Pioneer League; aggressive hitter with power upside, plenty of bat speed but approach rather raw; range and arm work well at shortstop and errors should decline with experience; ETA 2022. - that's per John Sickels
  4. although in reality - LeMahieu is a backup player. He's a below average hitter who's excellent defensively. The Yanks can't justify playing someone with his bat at 1st base very often (unless it's a late inning defensive replacement).
  5. This. I think most casuals think Russ Martin sucks because of his low average. I suspect most think he was a horrible signing also. Casuals are dumb.
  6. Jack Curry of YES Network reports that the Yankees are closing in on a two-year contract with DJ LeMahieu. Curry says that the Yankees plan to use LeMahieu -- who will earn $24 million, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic -- at second, third and first base. The fit is a strange one, as the Yanks already have Gleyber Torres, Miguel Andujar and Troy Tulowitzki pegged for jobs and that's not even including Didi Gregorius' (elbow) eventual return. LeMahieu will get to trade one hitter-friendly park for another, but he'll have to change leagues and doesn't figure to play as much as he had in Colorado. The signing would also seem to further diminish the chances of the Yankees signing Manny Machado. Those NY teams sure like to stack their infield with too many good players... edit: f***ing late again.
  7. Why can't he demand that? or at least let teams know what it would take to get him to opt out of his deal with Oakland to pursue football? I'd love to know the details of his deal with Oakland. If they say he can't sign, or play football, then you'd think there's nothing wrong him him entering the draft and getting drafted. Once that happens, he can decide where he wants to go. This is a very weak QB class and we just saw an undersized QB (Mayfield) and a hybrid QB (Jackson) pay immediate dividends for the teams who weren't afraid to go against the grain of the "typical" NFL QB. If Murray did go Top 10 - I would understand why he'd forgo baseball. s***** backups like Mike Glennon can make like $18.5M a year.
  8. Ironically, a video from last October recently emerged of Kliff Kingsbury (Arizona's new coach) saying he would take Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray "with the first pick of the draft if I could," an interesting coincidence given his new team's position at the top of the draft. I'd love to be a fly in the room during a meeting with his agent. I have a question. If Kyler enters the draft (which I think he already has?) - can he simply choose not to sign with the team who drafts him? Couldn't he put out he word that he's only willing to sign and play football if he's drafted before a certain draft pick - and that he'd need a certain amount of money guaranteed - otherwise, he won't sign and will go back and play baseball? ie, Couldn't he say he has to be drafted top 10 and be guaranteed $20M or he's going to spring training?
  9. Wow. I don't know if 2017 was the beginning of the end for Dozier (2nd basemen have a history of falling off the cliff), but this guy has averaged 3.75 WAR/yr over the past 6 years. $9M on a 1 year deal is a f***ing steal with little to no risk.
  10. Solid move for the Brew Crew. As much as I love him, contenders can't be rolling with Erik Kratz in the playoffs.
  11. Didn't he sign a contract that said he wouldn't play football (outside of this past year in college)?
  12. what year is it? Discussion on Kikuchi and Uniqlo chino's has dried up. It's time.
  13. He's going to be this year's Gavin Lux!
  14. Jesus - I had no idea. I was researching quality jeans and they said the ones at Uniqlo were solid. Not that there's anything wrong with Anime porn
  15. I just discovered Uniqlo over the Christmas break. Is it a quality store? Their online shopping platform pissed me off.
  16. Seeing as I already have to watch the game on mute (to avoid inspection by the Buck-Tabby virus) - this would be a massive improvement to my viewing experience.
  17. Asian investors are eating up massive tracts of land all over Canada. It won't be long until we're the #1 destination for star Japanese players!
  18. Poor guy might be showing up to a bukkake of questions...
  19. f***ing hot tube time machine! How did I end up in the year 1997?
  20. Looks like Walker dropped. That's too bad. Could finally be there year that Bonds, Clemens and Schilling go in.
  21. 1st round pick, who's a middle infielder coming off a .324 avg, 147 wRC+ season might miss some Top 100 lists? That's nuts. Low K%, high BB%. I guess he'll be 22 this year, and was s*** in 2017. Otherwise, there's a lot to love about him.
  22. and it's just about time to lock up this thread. 2 votes for me this year, which I believe is 2 more than I've ever gotten. Nicest and most annoying. Awesome. I love this place.
  23. Anyone know why the Mets kept Luis Santana in rookie ball last year? He tore it up in 2017 as an 18 year old (165 wRC+, more walks than strikeouts)....then they had him repeat it last year? Are there different levels of rookie ball that don't show up on the stat lines?
  24. Where is Lux now on most Top 100 lists? He tore up A/AA last year.
  25. Is that bWAR? Fangraphs has him at 2 and 2.5 WAR seasons (hence my comment re: a 4 WAR season).
