  1. I don't know if Tellez is going to be a ML hitter - or anything of value....but man - he has really improved his swing path and certainly given himself a chance to succeed. Kudos to him.
  2. Man - this is getting sad.
  3. and it's time for more netting in the stadium....
  4. I have -7 confidence in Tepera.
  5. Nooooooooo! f*** right off. I'd love to see Tampa dominate and win it all this year. But they need Glasnow to do that.
  6. any announcement on what's wrong with Glasnow?
  7. Barker is right (don't say that often). I'm pleasantly surprised he didn't justify this position by suggesting he'd have more protection...unsurprisingly, the comments on that video are pure AIDS - filled with people suggesting he be sent down or that he isn't hitting because naw protektion dawg.
  8. What a f***ing dumpster fire.
  9. His change up has been more effective than his fastball this year...
  10. Any reports on whether Gurriel can field the ball and throw it to first again?
  11. So I can't use the OK hand sign anymore? Good to know.
  12. I agree Dick. I think his point is you could take a 1 year flyer on them and if you happen to 'hit' and think their success is sustainable, you could then sign them to a longer deal (instead of trading them at the deadline). I doubt there's much history of that happening successfully - but it is a possibility.
  13. Fielder reached 5 WAR once. He averaged 3.5 WAR/year during his playing days (full seasons). Miggy averaged just over 5 WAR/year during his career (excluding the last few injured years). If Vlad is Fielder - all the hype was for not.
  14. How do you know this? I thought there were multiple reports that he was 280 lbs in camp.
  15. Still think it's a massive miss by the FO to not sign Pomeranz? 5.93 ERA, 5.77 FIP and injured (what's new?). Almost exactly what he did for the Red Sox last year.
  16. 6'1 280 lbs. Fat as f***. It's an embarrassment that he, and the organization let this happen.
  17. I'm not going to lie - the excitement of Vlady being called up wore off pretty quick for me. This team is unwatchable right now - even with Vlady on it.
  18. You've made your mind up about the validity of spin rates based on 8 starts by Trent Thornton? Are you f***ing kidding me? This is what's wrong with the world today.
  19. That doesn't seem to be true for Grichuk. You could throw 3 in the dugout and strike him out.
  20. Chapman's the best defensive 3rd baseman in baseball, who looks to only be improving with the bat and is coming off a 6.5 WAR season at age 25. He's on pace for another 6.5+ WAR season this year. If you made that trade right now, you'd get 5 years of Chapman v. 7 of Vlady (I think - I'm sure you guys will correct me). 2 years means a lot - don't get me wrong, but if Vladdy's ceiling is Miggy - Miggy's only had 2 seasons with more than 6.6 WAR and averaged 4.6 WAR over his first full 7 seasons. I think you'll get as much WAR out of Chapman's age 26-30 seasons than you will out of Vlady from age 20-26. With the contact improvements he's made, he may approach the 8 to 9 WAR per year value (recognizing he was 7 WAR over a 155 game season last year). I'm probably underselling the age thing and whatever the likelihood of us signing and retaining Vlady for his age 27-33 years - I just think his lack of defense is caps his value, while Chapman looks like he's already better than Machado and Arenado. Plus he's not fat as f***.
  21. nobody bit on this? Who says no?
  22. JD does seem like the type who makes a lot of gay jokes.
