  1. Sorry - I misread your post - it's been a long week. I read lefty mashing as a LH hitting masher. I agree with you. An Austin Hays type would be a better fit. Perhaps Atkins read sliderguy's breakdown on Lukes and figured that's the spot we need to upgrade...I also suspect they like the "upside potential" that Sanchez brings.
  2. Interesting. Steamers projects him to be a 110 wRC+ bat. I hope they're right! Underlying metrics have always been strong. Especially 2023 and 2024.
  3. C'mon Ang. That's a bad take man.
  4. Berríos apologized to Blue Jays for leaving during WS: 'Bad decision' https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3477604
  5. Same, unfortunately. I'd rather expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised if he provides anything.
  6. Oh vomit. $18.5M on a 1 year deal for Bassitt - good coin for him, but you just know he's going to be dealin' when he faces us.
  7. I think a point to be made is that nobody could have realistically anticipated these injuries. He wasn't someone with a long list of injury history, nor are these reoccurring injuries. This is bad luck. Santander fit a need (power) and by all accounts, brought a strong leadership voice to the clubhouse. Sometimes sh*t happens.
  8. A left-handed Heliot Ramos sounds good to me!
  9. Hamate bone surgery for Corbin Carroll - yikes
  10. Yeah - I agree. There's no real harm in carrying Leo to start the year. I'm not married to him, but it's not a horrendous option.
  11. 100% - just no luck in the win column unfortunately. With Olson out - he'll get lots of starts for a very good Detroit team this year. Rooting for him (unless he's playing TO)
  12. Extreme shocker that you'd take this approach Chicken Little.
  13. Have some faith boys. Boss Atkins is in charge of this ship.
  14. Let's all jump to wild conclusions without having any information. He could have tore it in the gym yesterday FFS.
  15. (checks mirror) My love handles also look better when I raise my arms up and flex like that - so it could just be an optical illusion.
  16. Reports say Lindor will be back for opening day - but we know hamate surgery often zaps your power initially. Verlander remains 34 wins away from 300 and reports say he wants to pitch long enough to get to 300. Will he be able to? The last 2 years have not been kind to him from a W-L perspective. Guy is a legend - I think it's cool to see him back in Detroit. Looks like they'll be a fun team this year.
  17. 100% Only 21 pitchers in baseball threw 180+ innings last year.
  18. Nobody knows the answer to any of those questions. Obviously it will be something to watch in Spring Training.
  19. 100%, but I suspect he's commanding more money and he may want a full-time spot on the rotation (those are both assumptions).
  20. MLB Network WWW.FACEBOOK.COM Who put together the better Top 10 list: Brian Kenny or Rob Parker? Both guys rank Vlad as the 8th best player in baseball.
  21. Terrance Gore, speedster who won 3 World Series, dies at 34 https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3474120 Died due to complications during a routine surgery. Yikes.
  22. Thanks for all the memories Buck. Your voice will forever be etched in my mind and associated with Blue Jays baseball. Any word on who will take over?
  23. I LOVE stories like this. How can you not be romantic about baseball? What a freak athlete - very few people to ever walk this earth have the ability to be drafted as a pitcher, fail, convert back to a hitter (after likely 3-4 years of not hitting) and have a very successful major league career. Much respect.
