  1. Would you shut the f*** up please. Seriously.
  2. Obviously. Did you think LA would trade White and De Jesus for someone who wouldn't be better than them both "IF" he pans out?
  3. That's fair, but at the end of the day, I personally don't give a f*** or judge our Atkins (or any other GM) based on how 'good' their PC interview talk is. Could Atkins improve on it? Sure, but that's super low on the priority list for me.
  4. Interview's are stupid to begin with. Nobody should listen to any of them and if you do, don't believe anything that's said. Comments like he's high or phony are dumb because obviously he's just giving you the PC answer. Strip has been amazing this year and it's become obvious why Atkins wanted him. I'd certainly be speaking with his agent about an extension, but it's going to be tough the way he's pitching now. This will be his last time to get paid and I suspect he'll want to get every last dollar he can. I understand the frustration with Berrios, but even the most pessimistic fan must have some confidence that he'll return to his 2017-2021 form at some point, although he may need the offseason to correct it (his xFIP of 4.17 this year is already in line with his previous success). He's the right age, there's no apparent injury and his track record is too long to not be optimistic. But for this year, it's Strip over Berrios for sure (baring some major turn around over the next 6 weeks)
  5. I think he's actually been good lately and was turning it around. I watched him like 3 days ago and he was sharp AF. Not last night though.
  6. Vlad, Bo and Espy are all hitting well during this timeframe (wRC+ of 157, 146 and 160). Biggio, LGR are just below league average (98, 95) and Chapman has cooled off (92). Springer's at 147, but in only 3 games. Kirk, Whit, Tapia and Jansen - all s***. Probably not as bad as one would have expected.
  7. Statistics suggest you should bat your best hitters 1st, 2nd and 4th. Chapman has definitely been one of our best for several months now, so getting him more at bats makes a lot of sense. Interestingly enough, checkout these wRC+ numbers since June 1st Vlad - 158 Teo - 151 Chapman - 147 LGJ - 146 Kirk - 138 Biggio - 120 Tapia - 119 Springer - 106 Bo - 104 Espy - 98
  8. um....not so much Elvis. He kind of reminds me of Kevin Pillar at SS. I mean you have to be confident to play in MLB, but he's been a below average starting SS for like 5 years now.
  9. You'd have to think that he somehow talked Ownership into the idea that by signing Semien, Seager, Gray that they would be a contender this year and after buying that BS, Ownership has now had enough.
  10. hahaha - hilarious. The team is s*** right now. Teams typically go through lots of ups and downs during the season - that's baseball. The players need to play better. Montoyo, Schneider - it never mattered who the manager and all the narrative after that move was mostly BS. I'm still relatively confident they'll make the playoffs, but I don't expect them to win more than 1 series. Still think the core and direction of the team is solid for some sustained winning. Unfortunately a lot of our prospects have been s*** this year (which I do think is a concern) and our system isn't in a position to have made significant moves at the deadline. That's life and limited our options.
  11. I don't buy most of this. Anderson is falling back to earth, Heaney's shoulders had been hurt twice already this year and he's throwing like 4 innings a start since returning. Gonsolin has never thrown this many innings and it's showing in his results. It will be interesting to see how the Dodgers handle this situation. So much depends on the health of Kershaw and a dominant return by May. But yes, it turns out the highest spending team in baseball has lots of pitching depth - shocking. If Rogers gave our FO another $90M to spend, then I'm sure they'd have more depth too. That said - I bet the Dodgers FO is sweating a bit - worried they'll fall short in the playoffs again.
  12. Unfortunately this isn't true. Rusty's suggesting the Dodgers won't miss Buehler is just flat out wrong. Losing Kershaw and now Buehler after trading away Mitch White leaves them with: Urias (stud) Gonsolin (who's wearing down with a 4.26 xFIP in the 2nd half and may reach an innings cap soon) Tyler Anderson (the dumpster diving champ of 2022, but a 4.51 xFIP in the 2nd half) Ryan Pepiot (sucks) Dustin May (who's a stud, but returning from TJS) That's essentially it unless they want to turn David Price back into a starter (which I'm baffled they haven't done yet, but they probably know something we don't). If Kershaw can't return and pitch to form due to the back injury, than the Dodgers are desperately short on starting pitching for the rest of this season and the playoffs. A lot of the Dodgers playoff hopes lies in Dustin May being a stud right out of the gates and Kershaw coming back at 100%.
  13. I think it's your insinuation that there's no room for improvement and once the velo drops, he'll be s***.
  14. Guys, guys - don't make fun of the Mike Wilner Bronies group (MikeM3, Jays333, terpfan99, JFD, 5ToolPhenom, jaysblue, etc.). Highly intelligent Jays fans need a place to vent about this team and we can't expect them to put together logical, fact based arguments when they are in this state of mind.
  15. Great point. History shows us that no pitcher with lots of velocity ever improves as they reach their prime. This FO is f***ing useless! Please for the love of god - post here more please sir.
  16. How quickly you forget that I was suggesting the Jays sell at the deadline - but you mold the narrative however you like. You act like filling holes is as simply as it is in MLB The Show unfortunately. Which lineups aren't streaky and don't get shutdown by elite pitching?
  17. Curious - what teams do you think have a great chance to win the WS this year? Which lineups aren't streaky and don't get shutdown by elite pitching? You must have missed my response in the Indians @ Jays Game 1 of 3 thread, but I think it truly applies.
  18. It's honestly like you've never watched baseball before and it's like you're mad that everyone isn't freaking out like you and your Mike Wilner buddies. There is certainly a chance this team continues to spiral and falls out of a playoff spot. That would really suck and we'd ALL be disappointed in that. As of right now, the projection systems suggest the Jays have an 87% chance of making the playoffs. Believe it or not, there would be a lot of luck involved for them to fall out of a playoff spot. Once they're in - anything can happen. I don't think they can hang with the big boys myself, but stranger things have happened and in fact, slumping in August and getting hot in September is exactly the type of thing that might need to happen for the Jays to go deep into the playoffs. Very rare that teams are red hot in August and continue to stay hot through October.
  19. Man - Lindor is back with vengeance this year, but Cleveland must be f***ing ecstatic with how good Andrés Giménez and Amed Roserio have been.
  20. Shockingly - it doesn't appear to matter who's the manager of this team. I'm so surprised.
  21. It's not hard to see which posters on this board used to call into and listen to Mike Wilner post game.
  22. We stopped in Milwaukee on our way to Green Bay for a Packers game. I was pleasantly surprised myself (not that we stayed there too long). I'd love to go back to watch the Brewers. I've also really enjoyed Chicago the couple of times we've gone there. Prefer Boston over NYC (by a long shot).
  23. Looks like Semien cooled off. 99 wRC+ in the 1st half, 92 wRC+ in the 2nd half so far...YIKES.
  24. How about Big Albert with at 120 wRC+ and his first positive WAR season since 2016. It really is nice to see that he's a legit player and not just a sideshow in his final season. I'll be rooting for the Cards to win some playoff games and for Pujols to play a role in a late game comeback or something special. One last time.
