  1. Jesus Christ - I just was having a look and my god has Javy Baez ever been terrible this year. Detriot must be s***ing themselves after giving him that deal. Then I noticed that despite a 90 wRC+, that Baez is still their top player by WAR...followed by Jonathan Scoop who has a 54 wRC+???? How the f*** does Scoop get 472 PA's when he makes Ryan Goins look like Frank Thomas? And then I noticed that Scoop has gone from -5.2 defensive value in 2021 to the best fielder in baseball with a +21.6 defensive value which seem suspicious as f***. And then I noticed how f***ing awful all the prospects have been in Detroit. Greene, Daz Camerson, Torkelson - all generally terrible. Mize and Skubal both have major injuries. What a hell hole it must be for Detroit fans these days. Eduardo Rodriguez couldn't handle how s***** it was - he just up and left.
  2. I didn't see the game, but was listening on the radio. Why did they move Merrifield back out to the OF (prior to the game winning hit) when they have the GB specialist on the mound? Not sure exactly where the ball snuck through or if it would have mattered if Whit was still on the infield, but it seemed like an odd decision after he was in there for the previous batter. Edit - after writing this, I see Cimber's GB% is WAY down this year at 40% after it's been mid 50's for most of his career. Interesting.
  3. Are high sliders the 'new thing'? I don't think those pitches get MLB players out. Just saying.
  4. He certainly 'looks' like a starter. It will be fascinating to see where his career goes from here. Right now it's obviously in our pen as we head into the playoffs.
  5. Interesting that Pujols put 600 HRs and not 700
  6. I thought the weather in SF wasn't great? SD on the other hand...
  7. Major countdown for Pujols to get 700. It's going to be f***ing tight!
  8. I don't really understand why FA's would want to sign in SF. It looks to me like that team is miles away from competing.
  9. The door is on the left. I suggest you show yourself out.
  10. Speaking of Gibby - he now has his own podcast! https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vZ2liYnlzaG93?sa=X&ved=0CAMQ4aUDahcKEwjwm6CxpaL6AhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQAQ&hl=en-CA
  11. Happy for Rowdy.
  12. I must say that I love seeing Goldy s*** all over the NL. The guy is criminally underrated and continues to be a beast. If he ages well, he's going into the HOF.
  13. This season by Judge is f***ing incredible. wRC+ of 210? Unreal. Since 1961, only a roided up Bonds has surpassed that number. Between this and Ohtani's 2021 year, we are witnessing 2 of the greatest single seasons of our lifetime.
  14. That is really interesting. If you just look at the rotation, pen and lineup - they certainly 'look' like a very solid team. Thanks for posting Grant.
  15. Prove it. Show me the list of great hitters who consistently, year in and year out, hit better in clutch situations. Vlad was great last year and hasn't been good at all in those situations this year. Do you think his 'clutch' ability eroded that much in one season?
  16. When was the last time MLB had 21 year old superstar CFers who were both going to win the ROY (and carry their teams into the playoffs)?
  17. The 'professional hitters' are 20th in baseball in runs scored. That's about all you need to know about Buck's ability to provide accurate insight on what he's watching.
  18. Exactly. Clutch isn't a thing. This BS about how many times he's had a hit to tie or take the lead in the 6th inning or later is some made up BS stat. I'm fairly sure if you could track this stat, you'd find these numbers vary widely from year to year for all the best hitters in baseball. It's not a skill that you can see a player is working on and improving year after year.
  19. sorry - I see the minor nuance now. It's still really stupid and you should feel shame for posting such nonsense.
  20. You hate 6 innings, 7 hits allowed and 3 ER's? Perhaps your expectations are a bit too high? or maybe you're just high?
  21. I think that's a fair point. Buck and Tabby are dinosaurs who believe baseball is best played with a f***ton of bunts, hit and runs and slap hits to the opposite field because in their mind - that's what baseball is all about. They struggle to adapt to new age baseball with pitchers all throwing 95+ to the point their only approach is to blame any weak offensive output on the hitters 'approach' because it doesn't mimic Tony Gwynn's. Accordingly, they don't like Guillermo Martinez and thus never mention him. Oddly enough they seem to forget about the Cito Gaston era of 'pull da ball'.
  22. K% probably needs to drop, but Brown's had a very encouraging season, which is excellent to see.
  23. They probably are as the bulk guy after Julian
  24. Little doubt the big guy will be out there for Game 2. He's a warrior. Just hope he can battle through it.
  25. HUGE f***ing win boys. Fan-f***ing-tastic.
