    It would seem easy to cite his back injury and wanting to take time off wouldn't it. Kurtz and Rice should be the AL 1st basemen.

    Okamoto by month April .674 OPS, 90 wRC+ May .774 OPS, 113 wRC+ June .955 OPS, 160 wRC+ That's a nice trend for a player who's adjusting to life in the MLB. I do wish it was coupled with a downward trend on the K%, but there's still a lot to like here.

    This is a great reminder of what can happen when you "ride your starter". There's a reason the statistics suggest going to the pen earlier than a lot of people are comfortable with. As I said yesterday, if Schneider wasn't managing the pen the way he has, and wasn't riding our leverage guys so much, there's a good chance we're 5-7 games below .500 and I doubt anyone wants that. The offense REALLY needs to pick it the f*ck up. They are killing the pen.
