  1. I'm curious how you form this opinion? Because it didn't help/fix Manoah in a span of 2 weeks?
  2. Apparently Harper was very sick and thus not swinging. I read that in the comments - don't know the context as to why he was at the plate.
  3. Great start from our #3 starter
  4. I fully expect that a new hitting coach won't change anything with Vlad. A LOT of pro athletes don't want some 'coach' telling them what to do. Most don't want to hear the truth on why they are failing. And to some extent, I get that - especially if the current hitting coach tells him one thing and the new hitting coach tells him something different (obviously it would help if multiple coaches tell him the same thing). Instead, Vlad will probably listen to what his Uncle - or some other trusted family member tells him over any Blue Jays employee. He'll 'think' that it was his Uncle that got him scouted and "to the majors" and thus he knows best. And because he's Vlad, the Jays will probably give in and fly his uncle in - just to tell Vlad what he wants to hear. A lot of the pro athletes surround themselves with yes men. Now I must admit that I didn't come up with most of this; however, I was speaking with one of the Leaf's technical coaches and that's essentially what he told me. He said there are several Leafs who refuse to even work with him because their ego is too big. But Cousin Bill who knows next to nothing about hockey gets flown in to tell them what they want to hear and make them feel good. I fully expect this extends into baseball and all professional sports. The Jays need to find the right person to deliver the message to Vlad - you're too out of shape - dedicate yourself to the game if you want to be a star - take your walks and stop expanding the zone so much - etc.
  5. Fair - but there aren't many ML pitchers who can be effective with a Stuff+ of 82. Now many this s*** takes time to stabilize - I'm not the expert, but if my memory serves correct, a Stuff+ of 82 is f***ing awful.
  6. But his Stuff+ was 82 in the game v. the Tigers. That data suggests he's not a ML pitcher.
  7. I would assume 40 man roster manipulation has something to do with this also? Schneider isn't on it is he?
  8. It does? His ISO in A+ ball was .137
  9. Is this move to give Varsho a mental break from the lineup? He f***ing needs one.
  10. Dustin May’s flexor tendon surgery Wednesday included a revision to the Tommy John procedure he underwent in 2021. That means he’s expected to miss a full 12 months. The flexor tendon surgery alone probably would have cost him the start of next year, but not the entire first half. Hopefully, this will get May right once and for all. The soon-to-be 26-year-old debuted in the majors in 2019, but he’s pitched just 191 2/3 innings in five seasons for the Dodgers. Pitchers man - pitchers
  11. First I'd seen the Stuff+ / Location+ numbers from his start v. Detroit. That Stuff+ should have been a MASSIVE red flag. He's f***ing done boys. What a disappointment.
  12. Remember when there was a legitimate case for Otto Lopez to be our 25th man and get his shot at the ML level? Instead he's rocking a 60 wRC+ in AAA. Otto was so f***ing productive, while being age appropriate - until he hit AAA.
  13. This is a turrrible take.
  14. Foul Territory (@foulterritoryshow) • Instagram reel WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM 59K likes, 332 comments - foulterritoryshow on June 9, 2023: "@aj_pierzynski_ft on how players used to drink during games 🫣". AJ suggesting Buehrle was drunk when he came in for the save during the 2005 world series. I can see them having a few cold ones during regular season games, but it seems doubtful you'd have to drink to stay entertained during a WS game. I could be wrong.
  15. Manoah needs a hell of a lot more than a good framer to make him a ML pitcher. Jenny Craig would be a good start. Maybe JC can give us a deal if we sign up Manoah, Kirk and Vlad.
  16. This is exactly how he should be used for the remainder of the 2023 season. Corner OFers are a dime a dozen and are cheap to acquire. The solution should be a pretty easy one for the Jays to fix. If Ryu/Green come back healthy and contribute, the Jays can simply send Manoah into the abyss, move Varsho to the 4th OF spot and will only really need to trade for a productive LFer (ideally who's RH). Mark Canha Tommy Pham (although he's probably a ****) Bellinger Duvall Lane Thomas You could also trade for a legit 2nd baseman (aren't many of them) and move Whit to LF full time.
  17. There were at bats last night where it was obvious that Manoah was going to walk the batter. You could tell he was laboring and doing anything he could to stall and buy time because he's a fat f***. I think there's a real chance he never pitches for the Jays again.
  18. And the Reds completely whiffed on Senzel...
  19. Varsho should be our 4th OFer for the remainder of this season. We need a legit starter in LF.
  20. Reminds me a lot of Kevin Smith and his age 24 season in AAA. Obviously it's worth seeing what he has, but there's a good possibility he's a nobody despite the good numbers.
  21. Does Espinal have options?
  22. This is the worst game I've ever attended. We're approaching 70,000 glizzy's sold at least. That tracker is more exciting than the game.
  23. He also uses his disengagements to stall. It seems clear to me he really struggles with the pitch clock - presumably because he's out of shape. He can't be on this team right now IMO
  24. Who's the plate ump tonight? Is he struggling?
  25. Manoah stalls and manipulates the pitch clock a lot by throwing out baseballs...
