    That's true - but Carroll is f***ing electric. Marte and Moreno are great and Lawler is on his way. Walker is rock solid also. It's also too bad that Alek Thomas seems to be more of a 4th OFer. Gallen is a stud, but I agree that several of their ML ready arms just fell flat this year. If they can correct that, they'll be cooking with oil for several years.

    Dbacks are going to be a fun team to watch for the next 5+ years. Still hopeful that trade works out for both teams, but it's looking less likely these days.

    I think I've simply come to realize that I don't really enjoy watching teams that win based on pitching and defense. Having pitched my whole life, I thought I would. But I miss the offense. Watching them struggle to score game in and game out is really frustrating. If we do make the playoffs, this will be the least interested I've ever been. I think I've attended at least 1 playoff game each year since 2015, but have almost 0 interest this year. So of course this will probably be the year they go on an extended run and I'll feel like a donkey for not being excited at the start (as I'm sure the fire will grow if they start winning). Fingers crossed.

    I actually noticed this yesterday and was going to post about it. Oakland actually would have looked brilliant if they kept Contreras, who now makes a 1/16 of what Murphy makes and is under control until 2027. While Murphy is still a stud, this wasn't exactly a great trade for AA, especially when it seems pretty obvious that Contreras was a legit hitter. Looks like his defense has improved immensely.

    Gotta wonder if the Reds will bring Votto back on a 1 year deal. I have to think he's a great influence on that young team.

    Yeah - I only looked at the Top 5 leaders in WAR. I didn't think Snell was in the conversation. Still - there are only 3 SPers with an ERA under 3.31 in the NL this year.

    It may help that Wheeler's ERA is only 0.10 points ahead of Strider (3.63 v. 3.73). Even Gallen is only at 3.50. I can't see it going to Steele, but he's the only contender with an ERA under 3. I wonder what the highest ERA of a Cy Young winner is. I have to think 3.73 would be near the top?

    Is transportation the MAJOR issue? I mean St. Petersburg is a beautiful area. It's too bad they couldn't put it down near the bay ala SF. You'd think they'd be able to figure out a solution to make transportation better.

    My biggest criticism of this FO is they didn't recognize that Vlad was a such a loser earlier. Could you imagine sitting next to that f***ing slob in the clubhouse? The FO has brought in a team that 100% could compete for the world series - but won't because your generational talent is a f*** bozo who's too fat, stupid, lazy and clueless to perform ANYWHERE near where he could. How about sitting next to Manoah, who's trying to fool everyone with the new personality he created after being drafted, but has eaten his way out of the majors and is going through a personality crisis and has abandoned his team. Yeah it's frustrating as f***. I'm sure guys like Bo want to bash Vlad f***ing face in right now. I sure hope a few players have the balls to let him know he's a f***ing embarrassment who cost them a shot at the playoffs/championship. And I sure hope this FO has learned from this and trades him this offseason for whatever they can get.
