Here's an idea, instead of trying to insult me, why not explain to my why I'm wrong? I look at the actions. Nobody wanted to sign him long term last year and if these reports are true (which they probably aren't), nobody has given into his seemingly reasonable request of 3 years / $75M this year. Why is that? Are all these GM's stupid?

What the f*** at your talking about? We were "in" on the Soto and Ohtani deals. That's been widely reported. However, at some point, the $$/duration exceeded the team's valuation and they decided not to up their offer. We have no idea what they were authorized to offer, or if it was Atkins or Rogers who approved the limit. The reality is there are a lot of factors that aren't in our favor when it comes to free agents choosing Toronto. Some have been caused by this FO, while others haven't. The fact we're in Canada remains a major concern for some. -

I'd love to see the Jays find a way to improve the baserunning. It's an underrated way to improve the offense overall. You look at teams like the Brewers last year. 10th in wRC+ 16th in HRs 1st in BsR 2nd in SBs and they finish 6th in runs scored Even a team like Cincy 26th in wRC+ 2nd in BsR 3rd in SBs and they finish 16th in runs scored The past 2 years, the Jays have been 8th and 13th in wRC+, yet 14th and 23rd in runs scored. We've been 27th overall in BsR in each of those seasons. I really hope a guy like Gimenez can have a big impact with his legs and start to right the ship. Baserunning adds a ton of excitement to the fan experience too. -
No way - just be irrationally angry out stupid GM hasn't signed him yet. That's what real fans do.

Paying players for what they "have done" is the kiss of death. They all do what they can to evaluate future performance. It seems clear that teams share a concern over how much longer Teo will perform at these levels.

That is a great question - why is he unsigned still? And why didn't anyone commit to him for 3 years last offseason? Guys can't s*** all over our GM all they want, but if this report is true (it's probably not - not sure why we believe any report we hear), then it would certainly appear that several teams remain concerned about something with Teo...

There's no way those new tickets/suites behind home plate aren't almost all corporate tickets. Up until those new seats were built, I would have agreed with you.

Tucker feels like a player who won't get paid anywhere near what Soto or even Vlad will get, yet he will likely outperform Vlad most years - making him better value. As noted, his age will play a factor in why he wont get paid as much.

3 years of Parades, Cam Smith and an arm seems like a pretty good return for 1 year of Tucker.

Bohm yes, Castellanos is f***ing terrible, so no. Bohm's statcast page is pretty rosey. Getting him for the right cost would be a good way to fill 3rd.

Almost all of those club seats, boxes, etc. - even most season ticket holders are either corporations/businesses who use them for client schmoozing or staff perks, or scalpers who are trying to make money off them. Winning helps scalpers, but it doesn't impact the corporations as much (just look at the Leafs for example). And for the most part - just being somewhat competitive is enough. Teams that win I don't know, 78-84 games a year give the allusion of competitiveness that is enough to fool most casuals. You just need to be "in the playoff hunt" in late August +/- People aren't "f***ing idiots" for not judging the Jays current roster situation before buying these tickets and the Jays can't just cater to the diehard baseball fans - that would be a moronic way to run a business.

AA exposed a massive loophole in the CBA (kudos to him), which allowed him to restock the farm system much faster than teams can today - that was one of the reasons I was a big fan of his. But even with all those extra draft picks, very few were good. Here's the list of his 1st round picks Deck McGuire, Aaron Sanchez, Syndergaard, Wojciechowski, Beede (couldn't sign), Jacob Anderson, Joe Musgrove, Dwight Smith Jr, Kevin Comer, DJ Davis, Stroman, Matt Smoral, Mitch Nay, Tyler Gonzales, Phil Bickford (couldn't sign), Jeff Hoffman, Max Pentecost, Jon Harris AA had 18 first round picks (including comps) over 6 drafts, which is insane! (I guess 16 if he signed everyone). Under the new rules, Atkins has had 1 each year, except in 2017, when we had 2. Just think about how good we could have been if AA would have drafted/developed 3 or 4 more studs with all those darts. Taking advantage of the rules in place, he had the PERFECT opportunity to create waves to talent and a sustainable winner. Nobody has been very good at it in Toronto for a very long time.

I've suggested this several times now, but the previous 2 regimes were also pretty awful at drafting/developing players. It isn't limited to just Atkins. No idea why - perhaps the facilities were a major issue? Perhaps it will take longer for the new facilities to pay off? Someone did post that the Jays organization had some of the best statcast numbers in the minors last year (on the hitting side I believe). I believe last year was the 3rd full year the new facility was open, so maybe it's starting to pay off? I really have no idea, but I can observe that the current FO isn't the only ones to have sucked goats at this.

Atkins should be fired because Burnes wants to return to the west coast, where his home is? Tough to argue with that logic.

100% I think most were concerned that Lindor may have peaked and with the inevitable declines to speed and defense, he may be more of a good/great player than a superstar. Those concerns were elevated after his first year in NY, where he repeated his below average (for him) 2020 season and went a combined 770 PA's with a wRC+ in the low 100's. Kudos for him for turning it around and resuming his path to Cooperstown. The guy has found another gear in his age 28-30 years and one would reasonably expect it to continue for at least another couple of years. Hopefully Gimenez's bat has a similar turnaround (not that he'll ever hit like Lindor - but relative to where he's been).
