  1. How high does IKF raise the floor from having no 3bman? An inch?
  2. So 2 members have put their reputation on the line that IKF and Jose Ramirez deals are imminent. Can we give them the morosi treatment? No further posting allowed by spanky or French soup if these deals don’t come to fruition?
  3. Highly likely IKF or whatever his name is will out-WAR Longoria but I’d still take Longoria if I got this desperate. I’d definitely prefer door number 3 of trading for a 3bman.
  4. It’s the first step in the puzzle so I’ll reserve judgment until puzzle Is complete at end of the off-season. Initial thought is simply that KK most likely will be a good value but not The best fit for this team as he is redundant with varsho and we need much more pop so I’m hopeful 3b/dh/4th OF can provide this
  5. I didn’t know that. Don’t catch a lot of yanks games as I despise them
  6. I’m not sure what you mean. I made a joke saying “oh tied for 5th”. I appreciated the link and enjoyed looking it over as I really have never compared 5 year stats of relief pitchers and enjoyed looking over the nuances of the numbers and simply noted it was surprising iglesias was worth less war despite 136-9 edge in saves
  7. Oh TIED for 5th. That makes a lot more sense. .4 more WAR than iglesias with very similar numbers despite down 136-9 in saves I did always favor the 3 year option over The 2 year option
  8. IKF SUX Fangraphs gave him a -.2 on D last year for what it’s worth. I hope the public debacle with Ohtani loosens the purse strings a bit more than planned. Prob wishful thinking
  9. I’d love to see that list as his best 5 season stretch had 2 seasons with an era over 5
  10. I’d love to see that list as his best 5 season stretch had 2 seasons with an era over 5
  11. In your situation, you implied that was the end of jays off season spending or so I had assumed. But compared it to yanks roster on December 26th.
  12. Remember 2 seasons ago when our lineup was so unbalanced and we had a better offense and won 92 games? That was ok. I mean not as good as when we balanced it and won 89 games though. That was a fun season
  13. I’d think that would leave enough money to sign hicks and a 5th sp for example. Otherwise , that team stinks
  14. I wouldn’t count captain Morgan as a reliable source
  15. I initially thought about 40 to spend this off-season. Then 10 on green didn’t make sense If that were true. Thinking the same with KK. I feel more like there is 50 to spend before this signing. Any way you run the numbers/options, I don’t think you can build a WS winner with only 30m remaining to spend without moving Rickey the dragon tiedemann. 30 wouldn’t even be enough to bring chappy back and replace belt w one of the remaining DH types without a legit trade.
  16. I’m for grichuk. Only one of KK / varsho should be in lineup vs LHP.
  17. Didn’t notice it was an old thread bumped. Shows how redundant you are that no difference could be noticed. Be better.
  18. Someone give this kid some hugs. And some new material.
  19. The jays need big bats.
  20. I knew once Yamamoto signed, the Espino market was going go heat up
  21. Maybe a GM that drafted and developed better would be ideal. If payroll stayed static over past 8 years , Atkins would be gone by now. Payroll increases have saved him. In terms of trades , I don t see trading a 1 WAR 1b man making 20 m and 25 next year as a rebuild. Even trading Bo could get another mlb player and free up salary for another player(s).
  22. At this payroll you just don’t make any albatross contracts and you are fine. Obviously tighter in AL EAST. 2025 (Vlad, Bo, Romano, Bassitt, Swanson, Mayza, Green) 4 relief pitchers in that 7. Id sure as heck hope we can replace that in 2 years. Thats like 40m in salary). A pitcher going into his age 37 season making 21m, vlad (a dh making 25m a year) and bo (who I love the defensive improvement while his baserunning has decreased) We continue to have 89-92 win teams at this payroll. Its good times
  23. The very notion of the term “window “ is panicking. Another option is continuing to simply plug holes with short term contracts and make a deadline move. As a fan since 87, I LOVE making the playoffs on an annual basis. I don’t see us anywhere near a need for a rebuild
  24. L54, what percentage of teams may be losing 3/5 of its rotation within the next 3 seasons ? And I get it , that’s our strength, but still. All 3 are making 21m +.
