  1. I like I said, 100% disagree with me. Maybe we'll find out around July.
  2. And I say this still having a hard time not believing Sale hasn't had major arm issues with that delivery, but he could be a good pickup, albeit expensive. What would it take, 4 years? 5? More? He'd be right in that 2021+ realm of actually being a strong team. And I like Goldy, but something tells me (and I realize I am disagreeing with 100% of you) that Rowdy Tellez can be a good, bat first, 1B. On the cheap.
  3. I don't have a clue what this means. Other than I know erroneous coding sux.
  4. I remember thinking it was a steal and wished it was longer. It was not a bad contract. Nothing is guaranteed in baseball. Who knew that he would Billy Koch it, by that I mean fall off a cliff.
  5. Are you saying Stroman isn't talented but very smart? Wuck?
  6. Equal weights for both, perhaps?
  7. I think Pannone has a shot to be a solid starter. Low velo, sure. But I like everything else he brings to the table (the exception being PED use).
  8. I can see Bichette being held down until 2021 honestly. I hope Alford rips it up in ST, and forces his way onto the team. I hope Merryweather becomes a solid arm.
  9. I'd much rather watch a young, exciting team play around .500 than and old, slow team. I look forward to see what these prospects can offer, in conjunction with the new coaching staff. I am hopeful.
  10. Why is the "w" in wRC+ not capitalized? I have noticed this in other metrics, too. Just curious is anyone knows.
  11. I'm a CFL fan and he writes solid CFL articles. If you listen to his talk on the Blue Jays, aside from the anti-Shapiro lean, it's a solid article.
  12. on en.canoe.ca Steve Simmons really slams the Atkins/Shapiro duo in the FO. Wants them gone. I have always liked Simmons' writing. What are your general thoughts on him? I tend to think this board is generally pro-Shapiro/Atkins.
  13. If he looks like a big arm down the road, then in 2019 I don't give a s*** if his ERA is north of 10. They need to keep him. This year is a fun (for me anyway) developmental, experimental and talent prospecting year.
  14. http://www.theathletic.com has a promo a few weeks back, $20 USD for the year. I signed up and I glad I did. Tons of great articles. If there is a boxing day promo, you may want to consider it.
  15. Yeah, the long game here appeals to me. What happened to JD's 2018 was a nightmare no one saw coming. It was bad luck, shrouded in bad luck, wrapped in bad luck.
  16. That is true. And why being a GM must be an incredibly hard job. I guess, the smart play may be to trade one of those guys now, if the package was pretty decent and included a prospect strongly liked by the org, and hold onto the other guy and hope for bounce back and a better trade before the deadline.
  17. For me, I would only trade Sanchez or Stro' if we received a top AAA starter who could possibly be very good, #2-3 in a rotation, plus some low level kids. But if we hold on to both, to start the season, and it's late June and both are pitching like they can, I think we get a lot more. I think even if only one of the two pitches really well (say Stroman), the prospect haul for just a good Stroman would be more than trading both of those guys away now. Players like Pillar and Morales are the opposite. They have almost no chance to enhance their value after a couple month of play. They are in decline.
  18. I don't have a strong opinion either way. I can see the FO doing it though. But I am curious, how is it dumber than waiting until late April to call him up? It's two more months.
  19. Cano should be fine for a few more years, and could be their DH and do fine, too. I think Steamer predicts 2.6 WAR for 2019, but I'll bet more like ~ 4 will be the case.
  20. I disagree. If we can move all star Smoak for something, then not only can we give Tellez a shot at 1B to start 2019 (he'll probably fail), but then the FO can justify keeping Vald down until even after June to play/work on 1B to avoid the super two thing. And what if Tellez continues to crank it? Man, I want Morales gone. Tellez and Hernandez could play DH until other roster moves become necessary. And then we'd have Seager at 3B, which would be really nice.
  21. We stand together as Jays fans. Sometimes you won't agree with what everyone posts I'm sure. But keep in mind, with the exception of trolls, we may all have things to bring to the table.
  22. 100% of us are. If you had a test to measure this percentage, it'd be really cool.
  23. Oh for sure. But only if you promise not to leave. Can't even handle the thought.
  24. Oh boy, don't do that. We'd all miss you!
