  1. Good start to the inning. Now Carrera can try for a bunt single.
  2. Martin didn't block the ball on the first strike out - that was on Martin not Biagini. Loup did well to get out of the inning.
  3. Estrada looks like he is in pain in the dugout. I hope something can be done for his back - daily massages should help.
  4. Things aren't looking good for the Blue Jays right now. Maybe Tulowitzki and Pillar can make something happen.
  5. I couldn't understand why he wasn't more of a fan favorite in Toronto. I thought he was a good player.
  6. Blue Jays seem to be taking called strike 3 on marginal strikes. The one on Edwin yesterday was a bad call but the Blue Jays have been taking too many called strike 3's on pitches too close to take, like Donaldson with two men on and 2 out.
  7. I don't see how he clanked it; it was either make an attempt or accept it as a double to the corner.
  8. How? The ball was hit pallalel to the left foul line so if Carrera tried to cut it off by playing back then he would be taking a longer route.
  9. It didn't look like a goof; he took the shortest route to the ball and couldn't get to it. I think if it was Saunders or Bautista they would have just chased it down in the corner and everyone would just accept that it was a double. I can't fault Carrera for using his speed to try to get to balls that slower outfielders don't even try for.
  10. The problem with back problems is that it can be treated and will losen up but then be prone to come back.
  11. That was a good play by Travis, but I think Buck goes overboard in how he calls the plays. Decent 2B's should make that play, it should only be a surprise if it was former Blue Jay Paredes.
  12. If it was a phony injury then I think it was a bad decision since he could have pitched 2 innings last night and given Tulowitzki a break at SS today. I think that protecting Tulowitzki is more important than bring Loup up who seems to specialize in blowing leads.
  13. Goins just gave Edwin an arm pump with his "strained" right forearm. Very fishy.
  14. I wondered why he didn't pitch two innings yesterday; this explains it. Probably best - he will get his full MLB salary and can spend some time rehabbing to practice his swing. I am surprised that it is listed as a strain since he pitched for the entire inning before coming out. A strain seems to indicate some muscle damage.
  15. Wow, you were absolutely right. Dr. Ken Jeong is so annoying.
  16. Goins on the DL because of arm soreness (from pitching yesterday). I wonder if this is just a way to bring another pitcher up without demoting Goins?
  17. It sounds like the bullpen, in this story Gibbons says that he doesn't plan to start him before the All-Star break - http://www.torontosun.com/2016/07/01/demarlo-hale-expects-blue-jays-pitcher-bo-schultz-to-be-healthy
  18. This story gives some information Bautista and his injured toe - http://www.torontosun.com/2016/07/01/demarlo-hale-expects-blue-jays-pitcher-bo-schultz-to-be-healthy. It sounds to me like he won't be back before August. It seems that Bo Schultz is ok after yesterday's soreness but he will get a few days off in Buffalo. I have been impressed by Bo Schultz, I think he can help the Blue Jays bullpen. . . . BAUTISTA NOT CLOSE Don't expect to see Jose Bautista any time soon. The Jays slugger remains in a walking boot after suffering a turf toe injury on his left foot on June 16 in Philadelphia. "He is feeling better but it's going to be a while," Gibbons said during his media availability on Friday morning. "(The Jays) miss him. You won't see him (for) a couple of (more) weeks." So Bautista is out until after the all-star break (July 11-14)? "I definitely would think that," Gibbons said, "unless I am getting bad info." Bautista is eligible to be activated from the 15-day disabled list this weekend, but it appears that won't be happening. The Jays had hoped that Bautista would be able to shed the boot on or around July 1. Bautista will require some rehab and strength conditioning once he is physically cleared. Prior to being hurt when he crashed into the right-field fence in Philly, Bautista was batting .230 with 12 home runs and 41 RBIs, and had a team-high 48 walks. Since Bautista was hurt, the Jays have gone 5-8. . . .
  19. It seems like Drew Hutchison is back. Yeah, show them what you can do Drew, again.
  20. Lineup should be out within an hour, we will see.
  21. Yeah sure, he played 13 innings yesterday and it is a 1:07 pm start today; Martin starts the game - not going to happen.
  22. I expect a win from the Blue Jays today. Edwin will be well rested, Smoak didn't play the full game and should be ok, Travis only DH'ed for most of the game and can play, Estrada will be pitching as scheduled; although the Blue Jays will have to sit at least 2 regulars (Martin and Saunders) I think they can still field a strong team. I expect the Blue Jays to win big today. I am not overly disappointed by yesterday's loss since it was entertaining.
